Martin + Me represents J Mascis’s first official solo album, recorded as an intimate acoustic performance. Recording and Release
Released in 1996 on Reprise Records and Baked Goods Records, Martin + Me was pressed as a vinyl LP by Specialty Records Corporation and mastered at Masterdisk. The album features photography by Phillip Reichenheim and includes guest guitar work by Kurt Fedora on the track “Drawerings.”
The album established J Mascis as a compelling solo acoustic performer, setting the foundation for his future solo work and demonstrating his songwriting abilities outside of the heavily distorted context of Dinosaur Jr.
