My favourite sad songs by Dinosaur Jr, are "Keeblin", "Alone" and "Over my Shoulder". As I read that J. is a big Deep Purple fan, I add "Soldier of Fortune", for me it’s the saddest song of all times! I must confess that I don’t know the greater part of the bands that you mentioned (I live in Brazil…. , but some of them made me think about others sad songs that I love: "The Endless Sea" (Iggy Pop), "Billy" (Lou Reed), "Witness" (fIREHOSE), "Please, please, let me get what I want" (Smiths), "Marlene Dietrich…" (Peter Murphy) and I love lots of Neil Young too.

Ok, I spent my Saturday and Sunday afternoons in a very pleasant task: choosing some noisy solos by J. (I prefer the noisy ones!). Here we go! the deafening "Pebbles&Weeds"; the final part of "Sludgefeast", "The Leper" is great, solo, lyrics, everything!, "How D’ya Pin…", "Raisans" is one of my favourite songs, it’s perfect and its solo is amazing. And "Bulbs of Passion" too. Now I’m going to the thread about lines!

I’ve just came from the "Just Like Heaven" Fansite and there’re lots of great pics there! I rarely go to the sites looking for pictures, but now I’m amazed!

I agree with LittleFuryThing, YLAOM is one of my all time top ten! I couldn’t put an order of preference, it depends on my state of mind, and I’m very surprised about "Green Mind", when I first listened to this album I didn’t like it very much, but now I love "The Wagon", "I Live for that Look", "How d’ya…", "Thumb" and "Green Mind". After YLAOM, I’d choose "Dinosaur", then "Without a Sound, or maybe "Where You Been", or should I choose "Whatever’s Cool…." because of "Not You Again", "The Little Baby" and "Pebbles & Weeds"? Ok, better stop now, I’m getting confused!

Hi, Allison, thanks for the tip, it’s nice to see that, at least, one of the Reid Brother is back!
I read that Evan Dando formed a band with James Iha, the name is "The Virgin". I love Evan Dando, it’ll be nice to hear something coming from them.I’m gonna check this later. I agree with you, that picture is cool, I also like that one where J. seems to be in bed.

Yes, it seems that he puts all the pain of the world in "Alone"! I’d love to see J. playing this song alive…

It’s been a long time since the last posting here, maybe we can reactivate this thread? J. plays so many wonderful solos, we can debate this a little more. I couldn’t answer this question in a appropiate way but, in this moment, I can say that "Ammaring" solo doesn’t get off my head! My son is complainning, because I wake up singing this song, I cook singing this song, I wash the clothes singing this song!

Thanks, thanks, thanks! Some years ago, when I couldn’t access the Internet, a friend of mine, printed almost all the lyrics. Now I want to find the rest of More Light lyrics, but I’ve been searching in the Internet and I think it’s impossible! Some days ago, I found the lyrics for "Anticipation", "Throw Down", "Every Mother’s son". You don’t know how hard is, for me, to understand what J. sings! But it seems to be part of his magic!

Salamiguy, you’re so kind! I have all the lyrics, the ones that I don’t have are the others from "More Light". Well, reading this thread makes me feel more confortable, seeing that I’m not the only person who don’t understand what J. says!

John, I agree with you. As I said when I was looking for the "More Light" lyrics in this site, Dinosaur Jr. was the only band that made me forget the lyrics, the way the songs sound were enough for me. I’m Brazilian and I don’t understand English well, so I’m always searching for the lyrics that the bands I love write. But Dinosaur Jr. was the only one who gave me this feeling. But now I WANT ALL THE LYRICS! Bye!
