AGAPParticipantHey,
I have been finding some wicked articles/interviews lately and rather than posting it to the cool web sites forum thought I would start it up here. So if you find any interesting articles out there post a link here for all to check out…ie save us all the trouble of looking
So heres my find of the day, old interview with Ron Asheton. Its pretty long, four pages, but some great stuff!!! Lots of props to Mike Watt thru the interview, stories of The Stooges thru time and their sad trip into junkie hell Heroin sucks just don’t do it is Rons advice…good advice if you ask me
http://i94bar.com/ints/asheton1.htmlI was never a big fan of Dark Carnival but Destroy All Monsters…very cool!!!

SGParticipantHey Neurotic(oh,sorry wrong message board!)
Thanks for the link,I`ll read that later!
ps-I checked out Mould`s site yesterday since this site was off, looks cool, saw some of your posts and John Dyson`s.Have`nt registered yet, think I should?or should I let freakscene soak up whatever`s going through my mind?

AGAPParticipantHey Salami Guy,
I say register, maybe we will get a deal as members when Bob releases his new stuff on his web site. Apparently 3 releases before March of next year, if he can’t find a decent label he will just put it out himself…very cool.
There are more than a few Mascis fans on that site, no surprise really…great guitar noise is hard to ignore. I was neurotic on a previous freakscene board, quite neurotic in real life actually but hey that can be kinda fun at times.Think you will enjoy that article,
Allison…neurotic…bates…another girl…

SGParticipantI read the first 2 parts, cool article.I think my sister would find it cool that Asheton is working with a guy who worked on Xena:Warrior Princess;she loves that show!
I found it cool that Asheton said about hanging out with Sam Lay,blues drummer who worked with Muddy Waters and the Seigal/Shwall band;their bass player used to moonlight with Sun Ra!The Harry Partch refence was cool as well, the avant garde composer,Tom Waits is into him as well.
What did you think about the Raw Power remix?I have`nt heard the original mix but it seems to me the main remixing they did with it was distorting the hell out of it(imagine if they did the same thing to JAMC`s Psychocandy!)which one do you think is better?
On the VU box set the third album is done in "the closet mix" which sounds diffrent then the original album;there`s a Mingus album that they added the edited parts back in,it problably did`nt need to be done, why can`t they just leave classic stuff alone!September 27, 2001 at 4:38 pm #65288
MattmanParticipantHey Allison, it the Bob Mould site the Granery Music site? Or it is another one? Just checking, I might have to go hang around and see what’s going on.

AGAPParticipantHey,
Glad you liked the article Salami Guy, pretty long though. The original Raw Power was kinda muddy, Iggy’s remix sucked…bought it anyways but Asheton is right that Iggy just brought out his own stuff on the remix
Mattman there is some good stuff on bobmould.com, recently the guy who runs the site posted a huge summary of Bob’s response to whats going on in NY. He lives with his partner just on the outskirts of the closed off territory in Manhatten, interesting response.
Looking forward to the new releases by Mould, apparently a dark acoustic album, electronic release (hopefully not in the megamega vein heard on ldaps) and another. Apparently pop tunes will be in there as well. He will be touring to support these.. No where near as cool and interactive as freakscene but a daily visit for me.Allison
