It is their standard practice to put "special guests" on every ticket, when in fact, the openers are 99.9999% of the time the exact same as the rest of the tour.
If you search "norva" on ticketmaster, you’ll see what I’m referring to.

I can’t help you on places to crash, but you should definitely be able to get tickets at the door. My little brother called the other day and asked if I was going and if he could go, and of course I said yes, and when I went to ticketmaster to buy him a ticket, there was only like 350 sold, and the place holds well over 1200. So, in typical Norfolk fashion, tickets will be available at the door and plenty of room for all.
Awesome venue if you’ve never been. Super sound system and a well-experienced local taper is bringing his rig so hopefully we get a GREAT boot.

Even more proof of the general bad taste of the American public.

everyonelovesjaronParticipantTo be fair, the Pixies did NOT sell out their one Norfolk show last year. They sold out both DC shows first day, but not Norfolk. Norfolk sells out rarely, and with Carrboro a few hours down the road with Superchunk opening, I bet alot went to that.
All and all, it doesn’t matter – the NorVa is the best venue on the east coast, the sound and sights will be great, and if there’s only 500 people, all the more room and less pushing. Fun for all.
Jeremiah – you going to Norfolk, per chance? I’ll be at Cat’s cradle, norva, and 9:30. Cheers!

Nope – I will not get to attend one of these shows. These insane project timelines we have right now at the day job won’t allow such things.
You guys be sure to post a lot about them so I can live vicariously through you!!July 7, 2005 at 6:56 am #109476

I’m going to be beat tired by the 9:30 club show though.
