OriginalPosterLostParticipantNot sure whether I’m just slow, but I’ve just discovered an MP3 (good quality and stereo) of Where’d you Go on the Ultimatum web site. J’s mentioned right at the top of their News page. Go to the J Mascis page, then choose ‘multimedia’.
Both Ultimatum and City Slang also have info on the album that wasn’t there last time I looked.

OriginalPosterLostParticipantThanks for posting this. I have been a bit sick so I did not get to mail this out…

OriginalPosterLostParticipantI’m surprised they’ve put the whole track on the site, rather than a 30 second clip, or low quality sample. It only takes one Napsterite to get it, and the whole world will have it by the time the single gets released. I will, of course, be buying a legit copy, as I have done with everything J has ever released.

OriginalPosterLostParticipantUltimatum seems to be a pretty cool label and all the people I have delt with there have been great. I think they are pretty confident that people are going to like what they hear and go out to buy it. Kind of like a drug dealer ๐
I’ll buy the ‘Where’d You Go’ single too (like always). It is going to have two b-sides that are not on the album…

OriginalPosterLostParticipantActually, since Ultimatum made it availible to the general public anyway, it could possibly be a strong form of advertizement if it hits Napster. I only hope whoever puts it up there (re)labels properly.
Perhaps Ultimatum relizes that most people simply can’t tell if they like a song by listening to a 30 second clip (I know I can’t.) That’s like half the chorus…

OriginalPosterLostParticipantI agree! Remember when Reprise put up that 30 second clip of "I’m Insane" before Hand It Over came out? Until that kind person (that I do not remember his name) put up a copy of the album in RealAudio (a couple weeks later) it was all we had to hear of the new stuff.
