rosaParticipantOkay, I know this is a stupid thread but I need to occupy myself.
Who was the first famous person you had a crush on? Fess up, people.
Mine was either Slash from Guns n’ Roses, or Joe Perry from Aerosmith (don’t remember which was first). Mom says I had a picture of Slash shirtless on my wall in elementary school.

HalfmanParticipantMine was Suzi Quatro, when she used to star as Leather Tuscadero in Happy Days. I think I was 4-5 years old or somethings. Teen years, It had to be Oliva D’Abo, no doubt.

HalfmanParticipantShooting at the walls ot heartache… bang, bang. Yeah, Patty Smyth wuz fine! I think she dired up uintil Don Henley did a solo with her about a decade after "The Warrior".

AGAPParticipantHey,
The 1st for me was Brian Jones of the Stones, wicked guitar player and I have a thing for blondes
Fred Sonic Smith of Sonics Rendevous Band was married to Patti Smith( I know you said smyth but I had to mutate it to fit this post) so she is cool with me on that level alone. Not a huge fan at all of Patti, even thou Grant Hart played with her recently Fred Sonic Smith is one of my all time absolute fav guitar players, try and find City Slang on the Sweet Nothin release song 13 I think…unbelievably cool…best version I have ever heard
Allison
please excuse any spelling errors…way too many tanqueray and tonics

rosaParticipantHey Allison,
Did you know that when Patti Smith was a kid, she cut out Fred’s photo from a magazine and hung it on her wall, just because she thought he was beautiful? And they ended up getting married. I guess I should expect a call from Slash any day now.

RobertParticipantI’ll have to go with deepsludge, I remember having a particulart interest in Alyssa Milano. As for Samantha Fox, I guess I was fascinated by those big things on her chest when I was around 11-12. Btw, when was she "on top," 88-89? Can’t remember any of her songs though..
September 13, 2001 at 8:49 am #65107
irishwhipParticipantI’ll also go with Alyssa Milano. Although I’m a bit older now, like over 10 years, I’m very glad she’s back on tv again, as a Charmed sister.
I also remember that I liked the female singer of Cock Robin (or is she Cock Robin?), but now the 80’s have passed I cannot realy explain that.
If I was some younger, I would buy some posters of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Carisma Carpenter. According to my sister it’s pretty embarrassing for a 25 year old guy to have posters like that on the wall, so this afternoon I will get rid of it. Really!

SGParticipanthey folks:
Patti Smith and Patti Smyth are two different people but both have a link to NY punk.
Yes,Patti Smith and Sonic Smith were married.Patti Smyth from Scandal was married to(not sure if she still is)Richard Hell. And yes she did team up with Don Henley years ago on some mellow tune.I`m trying to think who I liked as a kid,I was`nt one to put up posters or pictures in my locker at school.I only got into female singers 8 years ago or so.My fav ladies that I admire alot is Kristin Hersh,Tanya Donnely(from the Throwing Muses and Belly),Janet Beveridge Bean(11th Dream Day/Freakwater),Corin Tucker(Sleater Kinney),Carol Van Dijk(Bettie Serveert).this is in no particular order but recently it`s been Janet Beveridge Bean,I`ve been watching the 11th dream day and Freakwater videos at launch.Carol from Bettie Serveert is originally from Canada, that`s cool.
Robert-I remember how popular Samantha Fox was in the late 80`s,not for her music but for what she looked like.September 13, 2001 at 11:05 am #65109
maxiniParticipantOkies, any excuse for putting work aside for a few mins will do.
I guess I had a little thing for Fairuza Balk after having seen Gas food lodging. Recall reading an interview with her around that same time, and she seemed like a really sweet person. Pity she won’t return my calls anymore really .. and that restraining order was a bit uncalled for I think
Anyways, gotta 2nd allison on Fred Sonic Smith being one pukka guitar player, too bad he’s not around anymore . Same thing goes for Brian Jones of course.

SGParticipantAllison-Richard Hell and Patti Smyth were married in the 80`s so you`re problably right that they are`nt anymore.Kinda scary that someone married to Richard Hell would team up with one of the Eagles,of course that band she was in,Scandal only had one hit song and was pretty lame 80`s pop.
Rosa-good luck with hooking up with Slash.
Jaron-the full house girl?
Jeremiah-Olivia Newton John?I saw Grease when I was 5,cool to a 5 year old,cheesy cool to me now.September 13, 2001 at 3:36 pm #65112

So Jeremiah is 13 year old girl huh, that’s cool with me, but this better not mean that the same goes for you ELJ, cuz then I’d be really concerned about that orgy taking place in the chat room the other day September 13, 2001 at 4:39 pm #65114
everyonelovesjaronParticipantSalami – seen the show Full House? The oldest daughter on there.
Jeremiah – Xanadu was straight up lame. And as for the Pumpkins playing the theme, yeah, they also played Aphex Twin before some concerts, you don’t see me defending that either. Bolly isn’t the judge of what’s cool and what’s not.
And as for 7th Heaven, don’t go there.
