stigParticipantHey there,
Another Opinion Request,
What is your favorite Guitar solo on Bug? Mine has to be from "They Always Come" Makes me misty eyed almost every time I hear it.
Cheers,

Listen to TarpitParticipantFreak Scene has the best solo on Bug but that’s a pretty typical answer so I’m going to say my favorite solo from Bug would be from They Always Come.

it came out in ’93Â on geffen-"1991 THE YEAR PUNK BROKE".
‘take a trip w/ SonicYouth and nirvana as they stumble thru their 1991 euopean club-festival tour. Let filmmaker Dave Markey put you on stage, off stage and backstage!
witness the boredom the cynicism! and rock harder than you may have ever rocked before! featuring Dinosaur Jr, babes in toyland gumball the ramones and a surging wave of punk rock fanatics! seee you in the pit!’
i think they are stretching w/ the title-i think they meant commercially-punk broke to the masses of record/ticket buyers-w/ Nirvana, etc….
great movie and great DINOSAUR footage!

kracked873Participantit implies that in 91 punk broke into the mainstream (basically cause of nevermind but they dont say that haha) before that punk never really made it that far up. thats what they were going for i think. thats what thurston and kim say in the film. love the dino footage though. allways was a bit annopyed though how lots of the nirvana footage and some of the sonic youth footage they like.. show a performance but the audio is from a totally different performance of the song. or they jump around from footage to footage of the song from different shows with the same audio playing. just wish theyd show it raw and straight up sometimes.. not knocking though. understand theyre jsut tryna hit all over the tour and show different stuff.

jeremiahKeymasterThey are supposed to be releasing an extended DVD at sometime. I asked Steve Shelly about it around a year ago (specifically if it had any more dino footage) and he said Dave Markey had completed it (also states that here)but he had not seen it at the time. Not sure what the holdup in the release is though.
Can’t wait…
