just wanted to thank Dino for boycoting canada like every other grunge band/musician has recently….

yeh play 2 shows in London @ the same venu…. or hey why not play like 6 shows in north eastern USA all within a relative close distance to eachother….but skip canada which is a 1hr drive from most of those spots…

to add insult to injury theyre going to Japan of all places….

but no aslong as J is making his money I dont think he really cares… afterall thats basically what he said

J has a lot of fans in Japan, he usually plays a couple shows there when he tours. Great label in Japan, Pony Canyon records puts out his records, usually with lyrics included. The NE US has always had the benefit of many shows from J’s various bands, that whole close to home thing along the east coast…lucky so & so’s :!:

Over the last couple years J has played Toronto a couple times, Vancouver as well, also played Montreal during the More Light tour.
I’m hoping some Canadian venues step up and make it worth Dino’s way to make a visit north of the border. But I’m not gonna wait for that, heading south to the nearest location & am really looking forward to checking out a Dino reunion show in July :!:

Can’t really say why so many bands either don’t visit Canada ,or just do a couple dates in Toronto, Vancouver & Montreal, cause like you say, it’s not just Dinosaur Jr who seem to be avoiding major tours thru Canada.

Still holding out hope for a couple Canadian shows, would love a reason to head to Montreal over the summer

I can’t even remember the last time J played in Connecticut- but that’s not stopping me from taking the 2 1/2 hour metro ride to NYC. If you really want to see them, you’ll find a way. If not, then piss off and quit whining about it

Perhaps J has Canadian problems, I am a nice person but I am not allowed in Canada. I have Canadian problems. I love Canada, it’s just too bad.

k, im not even in north america when they go on tour here… im traveling to scotland…

so im not bitching and whining… im just speaking on behalf of canadians who arent as spoiled as other countries in regards to grunge music

it sure is easy for you to sit there and say im whining when you have no trouble going to their shows

and plus i shouldnt have to drive for hours upon hours into the toilet bowl known as america…. thats just insane

maybe if it were 1991 and dino were just as good as ever

Lou is playing bass again, that alone makes this line up better than ’91.

And just because we have a turd for a president that doesn’t make us a toilet bowl.

Enjoy your Celine Deon cds while we’re watching Dinosaur!

    Take off, eh?

I’m Canadian, seven hour drive each way to see Dinosaur Jr, looking forward to it!!! I’ve done it numerous times & will continue to. Road trips are fun…new record stores, better selection of toys/robots, cheap liquor, decreased taxes on goods, DINOSAUR JR…sounds like a pretty cool time to me :!:

Canada has apologized for Celine Dion repeatedly, we can’t be held responsible for her crap now that she lives in Vegas. I swear she’s not human, some kind of horrible robotics experiment gone wrong  :? :P

oh yeah, I apologize for that whole sum 41 debacle as well

i just recently toured the States with my punk/hc band, HERO DISHONEST, (we´re from Finland) and i heard from soooo many people that getting to Canada and play there is a bit like trying to play in North Korea. maybe this goes only for the DIY tours and bands and i don´t think it´s the case with J but i heard there´s always some serious hassle on the border and musicians get banned for years.

we have our own North Korea here in Europe, too. it´s called Sweden. they just don´t want your band to play there unless you´re from US and have the right hair.

j comes to london a lot b/c his record label is here  :D

on the canada thing … maybe it would cost more insurance wise to add canada ? or would they have to pay the customs people ?

i don’t know … just throwing some ideas out there to add to the debate
