darrenParticipantI’ve been having trouble logging in yesterday and today, the only way I can log in is to request a password change and follow the link in the email.
Apart from that, the new site looks great, thanks Jeremiah !

jeremiahKeymasterThanks!
What kinds of errors are you getting or is it giving you an error message?March 5, 2011 at 5:05 pm #138167
darrenParticipantAfter I enter my username + password to log into the forum I get a message saying “Error – Invalid username”
I then click the link to get a new password, enter my user name and get a message saying “Error – There is no user registered with that email address”
The only way I have been able to log in is to go to the forum homepage and get a new password through the ” If you can’t remeber your password, try this ” link. When I follow the link in the email to reset my password, I can log in ok.March 5, 2011 at 5:11 pm #138168
jeremiahKeymastervery strange. 🙁
Are you using your email address for your username? That was the big change in moving to vanilla. I kept doing it out of habit which is why that came to mind. You have to log in with an email and password now

darrenParticipantYeah, I’m using my email address as my username when I log in, it had been working fine until last night – strange !

jeremiahKeymastertry logging out, deleting your cookie (not sure why it would impact it) and try again if you don’t mind

Sorry about the trouble but hopefully we can fix it quickly 🙂

jeremiahKeymasterWait – forget what I just said
When you go to login and see the freakscene logo, register for an account but use the same email address you use on the forums.
This will create an account for the rest of the site and link it to your forum account.you will then start logging in with your username and password again
I am losing my mind 🙁
sorry!

jeremiahKeymasterJust fyi – I changed the search to use google custom search. The built in wordpress search did not include forum posts and the forum search was weak. This includes results from both. May end up switching it back but this seemed like the best option for decent results.
The bad – It has ads on the results 🙁 I have opted to only have them on the right but can’t take them out completely.
I’ll try to tweak the design but now it is a functional test. I may end up switching it back but wanted to let you know. Let me know if you run into any issues with it.
thanks -
