I know what you probably think about Stuff magazine but my brother bought it and I was checking it out and I was happy to see a review of More Light (they accidently called it Hand It Over). It is a positive but brief review.

    J Mascis

    HAND IT OVER
    (ultimatum)
    3 stars (out of 5)

The stars of alt-rock, um, dinosaurs Dinosaur Jr., Guided by Voices, and My Bloody Valentine bring back 1990 with really fuzzy, lo-fi guitar rock.

WHAT KURT LODER WILL SAY TO IMPRESS AN INTERN: "Although still immersed in the indie rock of yore this is surprisingly fresh in the rap-metal era."

WE SAY: Noise. Beautiful noise. Like high-grade 10w-40 being poured into your ears.

A pretty positive review despite the fact they think it’s a collaboration rather than a solo record, got the title wrong, and the album is hardly lo-fi.

This is an amazing case in point of idiot reviews. Who’s writing this crap? I can’t believe the album title is incorrect. Maybe they were reviewing Hand It Over and got the band wrong. It seems possible. The album is far from low fi and shares nothing in common with GBV. The best you can ever hope for from a review is that the writer accidentally says something about its sound that indirectly leads you to a better grasp of liking it or not. At least the review didn’t use the word "slacker" or reference the twelve-years-past Barlow-Mascis feud.
