What’re the best things an artist has said to an audience from the stage?

    My faves:

"You guys are a great audience, too bad we’re a lousy band."-Some cover band at a county fair.

"If there’s one thing I learned from seeing Styx/REO Speedwagon at Riverport Apetheatre this last summer, it’s that this is the time you go to the bar, because we’re going to play some new songs."
    -Matt Harnish, Bunnygrunt

<after> "I’m colour blind, wha colour is this? <IT’S BROWN> Oh is braun, thas verry nice, verry indie."-Stuart Murdoch, Belle and Sebastian

"This next song is about books. . . so you guys will have no clue what we’re talking about. . . but we like books."-Some guy in a very bad punk band

"This next song is about something everybody likes! Rock’n Roll! . . . Okay, so all the songs are about Rock n’ Roll. We like Rock. . . and Robots!" Karen Reid (Mega Hurts, others)

"This next song is about something everybody likes!" (audience member yells, ‘Rock n’ Roll!’
"No, this is a different band, but we like Rock n’ Roll too, just not as much. . . This song is about Babies!"-Karen Reid (BunnyGrunt, others)

    share!

The next song is from the first album I’ve made since I left the Rolling Stones.

BTW I can imagine that there are some (very) young kidds wondering, what’s funny about this quote….

‘Stubbing it out,’ or ‘putting it out.’ The remanents are called the ‘Butt’

It feels weird to have to tell somebody this, until I realize I don’t know how to put out a fag in German, or even what a cigarette is in Germany.

…don’t believe him a word, that must be one of those weird Scandinavian dialects

[official word is "Zigarette", fag is Kippe, to put it out is Zigarette ausdrücken]

Using the fantastic Worldlingo translator I ended up with this piece of abstract German poetry:

    Quote:
"(was wird es auf englisch benannt, wenn Sie mit der Zigarette getan werden?) "

‘,ihn heraus rodend,’ oder ‘, es heraus setzend.’ die remanents werden den ‘ Kolben ‘ genannt

Er fühlt sonderbar, um jemand dieses erklären zu müssen, bis ich mich verwirkliche, können Sie nicht eine Kippe in Deutschen heraus einsetzen, oder sogar eine welche Zigarette in Deutschland ist.

    :P
