OriginalPosterLostParticipantI don’t know if this has been posted on the board yet, but here is some news i just came across : Ron Asheton, the guitarist from Iggy and Stooges, Destroy All Monster and Dark Carnival, will sit in with Dinosuar Jr. leader J Mascis and his new band The Fog at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas on March 15th at Emo’s. It is rumored that Asheton may also hook up for some of Fog’s upcoming U.S. tour as well between March 26th and April 21st. Mike Watt will also be joining the line-up on bass.
ALL I GOTTA SAY IS…SOMEONE BETTER BE RECORDING THESE SHOWS!! I’LL MAKE THE TRIP TO AUSTIN IF I HAVE TO…
I have about 30 or so DinoJr shows on my list, and over 1300 overall, so if anyone wants to trade, let me know: [email protected]

AGAPParticipantHey Apache,
Make the trip is all I can say, does sound amazing. Would be very cool if somebody Out There would post that show, cannot even begin to imagine how pleasing that show would be. Wonder if Rock will show to play the skins for a song or two…could it get any better than that, I doubt it. Although if they played Meet The Creeper by Destroy All Monsters that would definitely be the ultimate.

ps could be a Real Cool Time in Texas, just heard one of Wayne Kramers projects Mad For The Racket are kicking off their tour on March 17th…not bad.

OriginalPosterLostParticipantThat might be a great trip…drive down to Austin, see J Mascis, Watt, Ron Asheton, Wayne Kramer,….now you’ve planted that seed, i may have to go for it. I toured with the band for 5 shows on the last leg and filmed all the shows…i went from San Francisco, LA, San Diego, …I think i have about 7-8 shows from this tour on video already…

AGAPParticipantHey Apache,
You definitely have to go, 4 amazing guitar players all in the same city….dream come true. Brian James ex of The Damned is part of Mad For The Racket, he is one of my fav guitar players of all time. Can you imagine J Mascis, Ron Asheton, Brian James, and Wayne Kramer…..Texas does not know what it is in for. Have fun and definitely tape those shows!!!

OriginalPosterLostParticipantHey Apache,
Hope your still heading out to Texas to catch Ron Asheton with the Fog…way too cool to miss!! Just heard that Wayne Kramers project Mad For The Racket is playing in Orange County, Ca. this Tuesday the 13th. They are playing at some small club called Club Mesa as a warm up for the gig in Texas on the 17th. Described by British Press as " A merciless sonic onslaught"….sounds pretty good to me!!

AGAPParticipantHey,
The big show is tomorrow…Mascis and The Fog with Ron Asheton hope somebody Out There will post a set list. Maybe you’ll get lucky and see J on the skins…as per Watt that already happened in Ann Arbor so chances are good.
