FlyingCloudParticipantin this interview on gbv.com, Robert Pollard talked about his view on things concerning his vocals part in the More Light song Sameday:
Quote:Q: I REMEMBER TALKING TO J MASCIS ABOUT ‘SAME DAY’…A: I talked to him once on the phone, J’s kinda…
Q: …SLOW?
A: Yeah [laughs] I didn’t have any idea what he wanted. But he basically gave me the guidelines, said ‘do this’, and I did what he said. Then he asked me, ‘what do you want? do you want a guitar or something?’ I said, no man, I don’t want anything. Then I thought, Fuck man, I shoulda asked him to play on my album!
Basically I’m a lazy guy, I don’t like to practise, I don’t like to rehearse, I don’t like going over stuff too much, I like the kinda process where you just go in and do what you were going to do. I’ll listen to the music and come up with one melodic idea, and then I’ll go in and do it; it’s fun to do it that way…I didn’t find from which year the interview is, but it’s quite current it seems… though the GBV break up isn’t mentioned.

rambleonParticipantwow … a guitar for a few vocals … that seems pretty generous … it’s funny to hear that j is just as lackadaisical (sp?) in his phone conversations to his friends as he is to journalists
