FlyingCloudParticipantI can second that, hope all London Freaksceners and everyone around them are safe and not affected by the attacks!
how horrible it must have been in those trains, and also to see the public transport breaking down within a morning which started all normally

JavroModeratorclose call, got off the metropolitan line tube at work at farringdon. two stops later is where the first bomb went off.
all friends and family ok, although my girlfriend works at tavistock sq where the bus exploded. so a series of close calls.
all it seems to have done is bring the city together, can’t remember a sense of community in london like it.
hope everyone else is ok

JavroModerator50 now confirmed. have a feeling it’ll be a lot more. can’t believe it’s that low with all those people on the tube. i fucking hate the tube anyway. still, back to normal life, what else you going to do?

FlyingCloudParticipantthankfully I just I received an email from rambleon, where she told me that she and her husband are ok, although shocked and sad about the ongoings yesterday.

rambleonParticipantyes, i’m ok and so far everyone i know is as well …
there seem to be quite a few people from islington missing (where i live) … they may have been on the bus which exploded … the bus route runs thru islington + past my house …
i’m just still so very sad … especially after seeing the news reports of the people who are missing friends + relatives + they’re visiting all the hospitals in the hopes that they’re there …
one of my good friends died in the twin towers + it’s brought back all of that pain again …
it’s been a weird time …
most of the reports say that londoners are resilient + are in a defiant mood … i guess so, but i’m just so saddened …

just read your post ben … so glad to hear you + your girlfriend are ok …
you’re right … it really has brought londoners together … it’s unusual for londoners to stop + talk to eachother … we’re just not like that really … usually everyone’s rushing from a to b … but the past 2 days seem to have slowed everyone down …
it was a strange atmosphere yesterday when there were so many people walking along essex rd and there were no buses running down the rd … at all !! … that was so odd and so quiet too … in fact it was downright eerie …
i have to say, i was impressed by tony blair’s reaction and speeches and he seemed to be genuinely choked up about the whole thing … ken livingstone too … he looked like he was going to cry …

fintanParticipantyeah its scary when its that close to home
I live in Islington too and the 30 bus runs by the end of my street, used to get it everyday to school many moons ago. I wasn’t due into work till thursday afternoon so in the end never had to leave my house. Everyone I know is ok. Not particularly looking forward to going back into work monday morning but I will. London will bounce back.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

RichParticipantI’m glad you’re all okay, Like Javro said the best thing to do is just move on, after 9/11 struck here, it seemed like everyone knew someone that was lost in the wreckage, it was really a horrible day, but the sooner we all get back to normalcy the sooner we can heal.
