I was in the front and saw everything! I actually learned how to play "Yeah, We KNow" it’s easy. . .A5->F–>E5 that is the verse. And the chorus is G->F and then after ". . .together. . ." is another E5. WOW! I always fancied it wa very hard to play that song..which is one of my favorites. The drummer and bass player were very good. J actually recognized me from all the L.A. (California) shows. He even asked me what I was doing ther in POrtland…told him I moved to Eugene to go to school. Then he asked me how I liked it there, how cool is that?!?! I have the set list that he put down on paper. . some guy took the 1st half, but I got the second. Plus got a new pick from the mike stand! Nice! He played a very good set. He played most of the tunes that I would have liked to hear. Awsome show! Totally worth getting my car stuck in a parking garage overnight! So there you have it!

drawrings, did you see craycloud with a beer taped to his hand, Do you have any idea why someone would tape a beer to his hand.

My husband suggested he was "sneaking" a beer into the club.
but I just don’t get it and I am stuck on getting it.

P.S. I do alot of writing on the side and this is something that wants to stick around but I need more information.

maybe he was real drunk and/or afraid of spilling it or dropping his precious brewski.

maybe it was one of those fancy budweiser collector cans, and he wanted to make sure he didn’t throw it out.

or one of his arms is shorter than the other, and he is using the can for leverage ??

hey Drawrings, so very cool that J recognized you, although you’ve been at a show in a completely different city! great also that you got to talk to him a bit :)
sorry to hear about the stuck car, though :|

Annastefka, I think the sneaking the beer into the club theory sounds quite plausible. the other things aren’t "bad" enough to be thrown out of the club, I think. I’m curious if there will ever be the right explanation :? :P

rambleon, I saw crazycloud was online and jumped here to see if he was giving us an explaination, he did, and the oracle was right, he was sneaking beer into a club. Sorry crazycloud, my husband and I went out a few years ago and I went with friends to another location and was meeting up with him, when I got there he was being asked to leave, when I asked what the problem was, it turns out he and a friend had a flask of alcohol and a bunch of herb out on the table in the back of the bar. They were mixing drinks and rolling doobies for a group of friends. I was sooooo embarrassed.
At the time I was teaching and the parents expect you to be sort of SXE.

You asked what I write, I write poetry, but I am working on a book that has a working title "The lost art of Mothering" I write some articles for mags and our local paper. I am starting an article at the moment bashing our local coroner, he is involved in a campaign to stop mothers from sleeping with their babies. (Co-sleeping) No other mother animal in nature has a baby and puts it away from her at night while she sleeps and then goes to find it in the morning. Co-sleeping is most natural for Mom and baby(and Dad) for the first year, if you are breastfeeding there is no other way. Cribs are little prisons that we put children in and let them cry because we don’t want to deal with them. Anyway, I shouldn’t get started here but we have had two baby in bed deaths in Athens over the course of the past year, HOWEVER both deaths involved extremely poor families. One family had no parent in the house at the time of death and 4 older children sleeping with a newborn. This death was probably due to the older children becoming tired of the crying and putting a jacket over the head. The other involved a cocaine addicted mother . The bottom line in that poverty is dangerous for children but not co-sleeping. Oh, sorry to go off, but that is what I do.

hey crazycloud, thanks for the update :)
must have been a bummer to be kicked out, though :(🙁
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll make the road trip to Albuquerque :D

Annastefka, that’s weird that they look up people’s bedrooms and want to make rules about how families sleep :? all good luck with the article, and the other writing projects you mentioned :D

i’d like to read your articles about mothering … i am not a mother + in fact, my husband + i have no plans of becoming parents … but the way in which people raise their children is a fascinating subject for me … maybe it’s b/c some of my friends have kids now or maybe it’s b/c i live in a city + since we city dwellers are all living so closely together everyone’s life is on show – so to speak … right now i am not working, so i’m running lots of errands on my own during the day which has given me a lot of time to think + observe … suffice to say i see a lot of mothers + babies + older kids at close range … especially at the pool ! …

that co-sleeping thing is discouraged over here, but is not illegal … i know there have been some studies into premature infant deaths in britain + one of the factors is that children who sleep in their parents’ bed are statistically more likely to die … saying that it has been pointed out that the reason many parents slept with their children in the 1st place on that fateful day/night is b/c they had a sense something was already wrong with them !! … also some other studies said you had to factor in whether or not the parents smoke + the room temp among other things … anyhow … my point is it seems a bit silly to try to prosecute people for a crime that hasn’t been scientifically isolated as the problem !!!

well, good luck in your campaign for common sense … + let us know if anything comes of it …

there was an article in the paper on monday about a recent cot death study in the UK … apparantly the deaths are more likely to occur on saturday night + sunday mornings … + the reason ? : "parents with hangovers [are] less vigilant in caring for their children" … there was also a link to "disadvantaged" families/areas … :|
