Anthonyg,
I know what you mean about the other albums on the shelf. Most of the private/local cd/album stores in my area have a copy or two of something from J. When I went to Media Play to get "Ear Bleeding" I had to ask after looking if they even had a copy. The guy who worked there looked it up and said they "should have one copybut had no idea why he couldn’t find it". I spent another 15 min. looking for it…on my own (good customer assistance is so hard to get these days ) I did find it in a nother letter of the alpha.

The first album I ever got of J’s was "Where You Been" (I love that album ). I feel J got a lot of promo from that album as well, seemed like the record promotion guys had J in good with MTV during those years.

hi!

thought I just should come with some unintersting stuff…

In norway, Europe "Ear Bleeding Country" is imported from the us. When the cd hit the stores in Norway, the biggest cd store in the country put the cd in the Bestseller-rack among with artists like Pink and Eminem. I was quite suprised to see this and had to ask the people working there how this could be, and tell them that there obviously had been a mistake.

A guy there said he had decided to do his own promoting of the album, because he was quite frustrated and angry by the fact that there was no promoting of the album in Europe and the album was’nt even realsed in Europe.

the guy was obviously a fan, so whatelse could I do than just say: "that’s the spirit…"

just found this detail about the sales figures question:

http://www.tonevendor.com/item/7492″>http://www.tonevendor.com/item/7492

Quote:
‘More Light’, which sold over 26,000 copies

no idea, though, if it’s true and where they’ve got the info from… :? :?:

Interesting find FC 8)

J is on a number of labels worldwide, would be cool to find out numbers from Pony Canyon & City Slang, not sure if he’s on a different label in Canada. Still haven’t come across FsF here, lame as that sounds its true :? Not sure what label he used for the Oz release of ML, think Dew Process was a new one this time around.

The Fog is comprised of members from Clevelands glam rock band Cobra Verde….  :!:

I remember these numbers

Where you been sold 250,000
Without a sound: 220,000
Hand it Over 35,000

I’m surprised that more light never outsold Hand it over touring with Watt and the Stooges and all I bet it was a more sucessfull tour.

I wonder how much YLAOM or BUG sold given that they have become legendary. I’m sure these continue to sell very well given their genre defining, influential status hype.

of course the amazon sales rank is a rather erratic figure and doesn’t say much about the absolute record sales, but it’s interesting that Ear Bleeding Country has got the best sales rank there … well, I think that’s because it’s the newest Dino release, but hey, it didn’t seem to do bad :)

To complete it, here are the solo records:
More Light: 38,885
Martin & Me: 21,201
Free So Free: 28,963
