Unbelievable, J & Nikki Sudden, two of my most favorite musicians on earth are performing on the same stage together !!! :!:

…I wish I could go and see them there, or else I wish they’d come over and tour together in here Europe…..

hey, it would be so great if any kind of recordings, pics or reviews will find their way here! :!:

Actually I’ve no idea… Well, someone – Jason Ziemniak – might have told me, but I don’t think so. Grasshopper and Jonathan from Mercury Rev are friends of mine (and fans – they covered the Sudden / Kusworth song Silver Street on one of their singles). I met J Mascis once in Birmingham. He was a friend of Epic’s…

I guess I’ll found out on May 14…

I just got the following reply from Jason Ziemniak,

I’ve been waiting for J. Mascis to get back to me so I can fully answer that question. Hopefully I’ll hear Monday morning/afternoon. I’m trying to see if he’ll play a solo set as well as jam with you. Suzanne Thorpe from Mercury Rev lives around me and is my go-between. Suzanne often backs-up Mascis when he plays. Why I have them listed as "special guests" is because I don’t know if they’ll only play with you, or play solo. And since its getting close to showtime, I figured its better to have them up on the flyer as "special guests" as opposed to not at all.

cool, kracked873, would be great if you could report from the show! I really hope you can make it :!:

J Mascis played drums on the album "Rise above" of Nikki Sudden’s brother Epic Soundtracks. Epic was also a former Swell Maps member and after that, he played drums in bands together with former Birthday Party members, before he started to release solo records. I’ve seen him live more than once.
Epic died unexpectedly in 1997  …Evan Dando still talks in interviews about how much he misses him, same as Nikki himself, of course.

Thanks for the close-up from Nikki’s message board, dB! :)
…I’ve registered there a while ago, but didn’t visit it much. I like it how Nikki is posting around there, keeping his online journal etc. I already ordered Nikki’s long awaited new record there, which will add fine to my huge Nikki record collection :D

Nikki’s live performances are great, rocking, charming and personal, whoever has the chance to see him, go :!:

what about this ticketmaster link ?

I’m wondering though, if that’s the right show, as the valentines site says $10 and ticketmaster says $5, I also haven’t read the show’s name "Two Cow Garage" anywhere else.. :?: ? :?

The Ticketmaster link is for the ‘Downstairs show’ at Valentine’s, Nikki Sudden & co. are playing ‘Upstairs’…..

Nikki Sudden on his message board about the show on May 14th:

Well, unfortunately J couldn’t make it. He said something about ‘having to walk the dogs!’

However the delightful Miss Suzanne Thorpe from Mercury Rev played a gorgeous flute at the Albany show and the next day at the record store in Troy when we were also joined by Jonathan Donahue (also from MR) who did a duet with me on Silver Street. No recording but there are photos…
