I was looking for Dave Schools birth information to do a synastry chart with J’s, I can’t find it (give me a few days)
but I did find this at the Widspread web site:
Mascis and Schools first met up early in 2004 and the chemistry was right for further collaboration. The first show featuring the new Fog line-up will occur at the 40 Watt club in Athens April 28th (tickets are on sale now!). In June Dave and J will head out on a short West coast tour that will bring the band from Seattle down to San Diego hitting most major cities in-between. The new Fog will likely record in late summer, more details will be posted as time goes along.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see Dave in full rock mode. For more info on J, The Fog, Dinosaur Jr, and the upcoming West coast tour visit http://www.jmascis.com advanced tickets will also be available via the website, don’t be left out in the cold!April 26, 2004 at 1:17 pm #101363
thanks for the news. there were some rumours about a new album in an earlier thread, but this is the first time I see something something about when it will be recorded.April 26, 2004 at 1:21 pm #101364
yeah cool find, AnnastefkaApril 26, 2004 at 1:30 pm #101365
Recording is sort of like a wedding, I mean it is not done on the fly at this stage of the game. If it’s true, then they are getting geared up to record. They have the dates planned. Late summer is only 4 months away!
Oh, btw, I like how the news says they will start in Seattle and go down to San Diego hitting most major cities in-between.
How many is that like 2? just kidding We all know Oregon has a few major cities.April 26, 2004 at 1:37 pm #101366
good news indeed …April 26, 2004 at 7:11 pm #101367
Dave has paired up with J Mascis and The Fog. The band is fronted by J Mascis, the former front man of Dinosaur Jr. The trio is J on guitar and vocals, Dave on bass and Athens Georgia’s own Kyle Spence (of The Tom Collins Band) on drums. Dinosaur Jr was a seminal indie rock band that influenced the likes of Nirvana and left behind a musical blueprint that would be emulated by hundreds of bands that were later tagged as “grungeâ€April 26, 2004 at 7:17 pm #101368
From jambase.comQuote:Mascis’ collaboration with Schools is a unique pairing, but one that both feel is going to translate well to audiences.
Mascis said of the pairing, "It’s going to be good to play with Dave. Musically we match up, we both noodle quite a bit."April 26, 2004 at 9:49 pm #101369
Can anyone tell me what is "noodle"April 26, 2004 at 11:08 pm #101370
Noodling is when you play alot of different notes, kind of all over the place.
