The DudeParticipant"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself- nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." Franklin D. Roosevelt
The tragedy that has befallen our country September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten. Our carefree attitudes and feelings of security have been stripped from our psyches; our innocence is gone. Thoughts of difficult times ahead and imminent doom prevail over rational thinking. This is indeed an event that goes unparalled in United States history.
This, however, is not a time to lose our wits. We cannot give into the fear that these terrorist cowards have tried to inject into the hearts of U.S. citizens. We should not point fingers, and criticize governmental officials, as the extremity of this event is powerful enough to shake the bravest of souls. And we must not let the days happenings lead to foolish and irrational thought.
As a nation, we need to come together and show the perpetrators that even a heinous act such as this, cannot extinguish the American spirit. We must do past generations, who have gone through equally hard times, proud. And we should all heed the words of the great FDR.
Stay strong, people, and get ready to show the rest of the world what we’re made of. And please don’t forget to say a prayer for the friend’s and families of the victims, for our president, and for our country as a whole.
Godspeed
joe
