AnthonyParticipantUS: Dinosaur Jr
UK: The Jam
Norway: Turbonegro
i thought turbonegro broke up.November 27, 2004 at 11:21 am #106183
AatosParticipantOk, i should have put 22pistepirkko but i forgot it. Another great band from Finland is/was Kingston Wall. Too bad the singer jumped down from the roof of a church in Helsinki..
Actually i didnt remember any other bands from Norway.. I think there could be better bands in Norway than Kings of Convenience. When i was in Innsbruk last winter i saw a norwegian band called The Mormones and they were pretty funny!I spoke some swedish to them and they answered in Norwegian..
And The Kinks, i think its the best among the "british invasion" bands, or whatever they are called. I wonder why they arent ranked with The Who etc. My dad has almost every Kinks vinyl and now im listening to them, maybe my son will listen to it too.. haha..
November 27, 2004 at 12:28 pm #106184
RobertParticipantthe Kinks are wonderfully brilliant
I love are the british green preservation society
Listening to it right now. The best Bside of any album.
The Mormones are cool. And a nice bunch of guys.
Anthony, TRBNGR was disolved/put on hold when the singer totally cracked due to his heroin addiction. It’s a great story, but a bit too long to tell for me right now. They reformed some years later when he had cleaned up.

fata morganaParticipantCan’t choose–because that would involve favoritism and downsizing due to style: pop, jazz, blues, alt, emo, rock, Musique Actuelle, classical, prog rock, hardcore, punk, folk, ambient, dark wave, r & b, trip hop, hip hop, rap, ragga, raggae, old school, dance hall, big band, etc… can’t do it. Can’t choose. also, past, present, or future? dunno.

maxiniParticipantThe greatness of Turbonegro always eluded me… is there a tune I ought to check out that would convert me?
