Murph’s great. I love the way he plays and I wish he would’ve stayed around after Where You Been. J was fantastic on the drums for Without A Sound, and George Berz did fine on Hand It Over, but without Murph it wasn’t the same classic sound as far as drumming goes. He’ll always be one of my favorite drummmers.

You mean the one song George plays on on Hand It Over? I’ve heard that George recorded drum parts for a number of tracks on that album, but then J decided to re-record them himself.

Murph does rule. Miles Davis would’ve liked Murph’s drumming, because he plays slightly ahead of the beat. It really drives the music, and brings out the best in J’s playing. That’s what I like so much about Kyle Spence’s playing, too — he plays with a swing (like George) but slightly ahead of the beat (like Murph). As a drummer myself, I really like George’s playing, but his slightly behind-the-beat style never fully worked for me in the context of J’s playing. It always sounded a bit sluggish, which worked ok for some tunes, but not so good for others.

nod. Hey Haliburton is cashing in on New Orleans! Bush got them the contract (natch)

Krispy with nan and shrimp fried rice while others die up to their necks in attick water. Have J do a song about that reality for the teen hopes of the world

Bush and Murph rocking neck and neck!
