kracked873Participantamazing amazing show. went like this…
missed the first opener dude.
got there just in time to see thurston, kim gordon and steve shelly set up as a trio and rock a fucking sick sonic youth trio set. really great stuff. so raw just thurston on vocals. kim was rockin out hard.
jeff. these two dudes rocked, didnt know what to expect but when they went on the energy was non stop and the drummer was ridiculously good. really dug it.
sunburned hand of thurston. just thurston on guitar and the bearded drummer from sunburned hand (dont know his name but i allways dug his shit, loved when sunburned hand opened for dinosaur at the middle east shows) anyway the set was mainly thurston doing crazy feedback, fucking with pedals, the drummer rockin’ out along with it. great set.
MASCIS MARKERS. j on drums, pete on drums.. two drum sets. amazing. so intense you could feel j slam those things to no end. elisa and leah were goin nuts. really dug this set. j + pete really bounced off each other awesome and they were both slammin so hard. J had a picture of Mike Watt on his bass drum thought that was awesome.
as for my video, complications went down during the sonic youth set and i didnt get to videotape that part. got the camera back in action in time for jeff, sunburned hand of the thurston and my tape ran out with a mere 5 minutes left in the mascis markers set. I think it came out decent, havent even got a chance to watch it yet but ill surely transfer it to DVD and let everyone see this shit.
GREAT NIGHT. GREAT BANDS.
-Pete

beautiful_noiseParticipantPETE YOU RULE!!!
I first read the "I had complications" part, and I freaked out, but I can’t believe you got almost all of it on video. Thank you so much in advance!

kracked873Participantyeah i was kinda ticked cause i wanted to go to that markers show but my friends didnt wanna go cause they though it was gonna be sans j (as did i, it wasnt billed as mascis markers) so we didnt go and in the end j did play.
can’t complain though haha that flywheel show was so great.

dazedcolaParticipantThe ecstatic peace homepage has put up some quicktime video clips of some of the performances at the flywheel like Sonic Youth, JEFF(who were surprisingly good), Sunburned Hand of the Thurston and Mascis Markers.

kracked873Participantyeah i saw that. good stuff.
i noticed there’s a clip on there (in the top 20 clips) from the northampton magik markers/dinosaur show in july. real good clip gets some of elisa preaching to the people in the crowd who hate the markers, gets some of her in the crowd shoving around with her guitar and me and my brother are standing right next to her, then gets thurston asking some dudes what they thought of the markers (theyre haters haha) then ends with a sweet clip of dinosaur playing mountain man.

lookitssamParticipantI don’t get it. Is their whole thing like…to get in fights with people? Because whenever I’ve seen them, either live or on video, they always fight with the audiance.
