Word up Freaksceners,
I know I haven’t been around for a while but man, I’ve been one super busy mo’ fo’!!!
I graduated two weeks ago from good old OSU. Five years later, can’t believe it finally happened. Had about 100 or so family members and friends come by for the grad party and all I can say is, if or when or if you do all ready, have kids, invite as many people to the grad party as possible. Your childrens’ check books will be ever so grateful!

Started working the following Monday. I’m finally on the nursery staff and a nice pay raise to boot. We don’t really have a nursery yet, that’s why they hired me! To get this shit started. For the 1st time in my life, I’m really doing something that I’m passionate about, even if I’m not grafting trees yet. Give it time, give it time. For the first time, people are asking ME what I think, instead of telling me what to do. It’s Great!!! That little piece of paper makes such a huge difference! No more bean counting for me.
So, as of Saturday, we finally convinced the LL to break our lease. This is superb, as I’ve grown quite tired of the Campus scene as of late. Most of my friends have moved allready anyways, so I guess it’s time for me to be getting on. Everyone here looks like little kids anyways.
So I’ve been working long hours and moving stuff in the evenings. It’s amazing how much worthless crap one can accumulate in 5 years. I’m moving home. No, not my parents’ place, but to the same general local just north of here. Back to the country I go! My buddies are going to rent me a room in a house for $100 a month + utilites. Save, save, save!!! However, I don’t think I can stand the country for too long and will probably be moving again back to the big CO when the oppurtunity arises. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great. I love flying down the back roads listening to my engine hum. Or looking upon acre upon acre of fields and watching the lightning bugs twinkle like a million stars in the sky. Oh yeah, and out there, you can ACTUALLY see the stars. (There’s some scenery I’m missing, change the focus, change the view) I have lots of old friends that I’ll have to hook back up w/. Maybe I’ll meet some cute little country girl who wants to settle down. I really love it there, but there just isn’t that social atmosphere I need. We’ll wait and see.
The only real problem is, it’s far enough out, that there’s no cable modem service yet. So, I’ll try to stop by now and then, but it probably will be very spotty for the time being. Have you ever tried DL’ing MP3’s over a phone line? Good F*ck*n’ Luck!!!
Still single, but have been going out quite a bit now that I’m finally making some real dough. Have seen a lot of good local bands and been expanding on the social side in other directions as well, now that I’m not so busy studying in what should have been my free time. Meeting lots of new people, especially in the ladies department. Woo Woo Woo!!! (Also been doing some internet side reading. Rosa, will you move here and marry me?)Supposedly some hottie at work would like to go out w/ me some time but I am a bit hesitant about this. Something about dating people you work w/…seems like a possible powder keg waiting to blow…but who knows, we’ll see what happens.

And on top of all this, I’m still finding time to go play soccer. Gotta get in shape. Have lost 15lbs. since Christmas, getting some nice muscle tone from work, and a great tan from being outside so much!!! Kurtis is looking good!

Anyways, kinda upset about the modem thing. Especially since so many of the regulars are starting to come back and post some more. You know who you are!!! And that whole Audio Galaxy shutdown…HORSESHIT!!! So please, I’ll still be around, someone take the time to drop me an e-mail here or there and let me know what’s up w/ the music sharing scene. Or hell, just say "hey"!!! Don’t know how quickly I’ll get back to you, but where there’s a will there’s a way! Oh yeah, AGAP, finally got the burner up and running, it’s all good on my end, just don’t know where to send the stuff for your listening enjoyment. So anyways, keep me posted OK kiddies? I’ve been exposed to way too much cool stuff to have it all stop now. And just as soon as I get a cable modem, I’ll be back online just like I never left!!!

So…I guess that’s about it…see you all and take care…back before you go…back before you know…I know it…I know it…I know it…

Peace,
Kurt

I mean, cool.

As for the marriage proposal…where do you live, K? If I move in, we’ll each only pay $50 rent.

Another fun thing to do in the country is drive with your headlights off in the winter. If the sky is clear and the moon is out, the whole area will be illuminated by the reflection off the snow.

Kurteous,

Truly, congratulations on both your graduation and subsequent happiness in work and social life. Hope life continues to flourish for you. I really like your descriptions of pastoral scenery. Enjoy.

Yeah, definately know what your talking about w/ the headlights. Yet, another reason to love the country! (along w/ however many more)

Tom, sorry about never gettin’ back to the e-mail. I’m a slow typer and as I said, I’ve been busy. I hate politics. That shit always gets me fired up so I try not to talk about it to much!!! Anyways, I figure my Rep. is your typical politician. If I wanted smoke blown up my ass, I’d sit around with a pack of cigarettes and a long piece of hose. He’s just playing smiles…typical politician…kiss ass whenever possible.

AGAP and Salami, someone told me 4 years ago that if I liked Dino Jr. I should check out Swervedriver. I bought 11th Dream Day and it is the most worthless piece of shit I’ve ever layed my hands on. But, on your advice, I’ll give them another listen to on some other albums and get back to you. For now, they still suck as far as I’m concerned!!!

So yeah, I’m making money and it’s great. Got some new threads and some cash to play w/ too. I bought a fish tank. I’ve wanted one for years and finally shelled out the cash for it. Fish are the most boring thing in all the world. All they do is swim back and forth day in and day out. Round and round they go, stopping occasionally to eat the food that I put in for them. What a dreary and ho-hum existence they live. The worst part is, I could just sit there for hours watching them. Wierd, huh?

I also bought a .22. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t kill stuff w/ it, but I like to shoot now and then. My roommate said "Well, I guess you can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take…(you know how the rest goes)". Ha ha, very funny! (asshole)

All right, I have the modem until Saturday, 8am. I’ll try to post the fuck out of this board while I can. Have to work at 6:30, plus there’s a company party after work. Then I really should pack up another car load. On top of all that, there’s a 3 day annual community festival starting tomorrow that I always attend. I’m so frickin’ busy…AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Peace,
More to come later!!!

Kurtis-I think you mean Swervedriver`s 99th Dream, not 11th Dream Day,that`s another band,it`s hard not to get all these band names and albums mixed up I know.I agree that 99th Dream is worthless shit and it`s the audio equal of watching your fish swim around ,their other albums are fantastic and does`nt sound much like 99th Dream, definitely check out Raise,Mezcal Head, and Ejector Seat Reservation.
Living out in the country can be cool,I`m tired of city life,I used to live out in the country from age 6 to 13,I hated it at the time but when I look back at it now it was a nice place to live, the city has it`s good things about it but I think I`d rather be out in the sticks.
Too bad about AG,I miss talking to you there and getting songs from you,I got a new appreciation for the Supersuckers since you sent some songs out by them,I used to hear them on the radio here years ago but did`nt pay much attention to them.
Good luck with everything, good to hear everything is going cool with you, hope to hear more from you soon.

Hey Colonel,

YIKES, quite the catch up message…congrats on all the positive changes. I hated 99th dream by swervedriver, check out their 1st one Raise…songs son of mustang ford, rave down, sci flyer…think you will like those. Mezcal Head is their 2nd, Harry and Maggie is a wicked song…

I’ll message you with the address, you should do the same following your move…just in case I come across something you just need to have

When we figure out where we’re going with the mp3 sharing group will definitely give you a shout…I am missing audiogalaxy in a huge way!!!

Running a nursery not bad, I just got mugged by a zillion mosquitoes watering my own little deal…damn bloodsuckers

Good luck, hope to see you back soon.

I thought I’d post this just to be difficult: Fish

It contains a couple little hokey stories to appeal to people’s emotions; skip over that & just read the parts about breeding/trading and proper care. As with any purchase, it’s good to do your research first

Love the exploding dog pic, too!
