QuicksandParticipantThis was my first Dinosaur Jr. show, but I’ve been a serious fan since ’91. I was absolutly blown away. It was 104 degrees, but I was absolutly unaffected. I was two people away from the front, and I was right in front of J. He was unbelievable. My favorite moment was when he totally rocked out during freakscene, and switched guitars halfway through the solo. They opened with Little Furry Things and then proceed to rock hard and loud for the next 45 minutes. I was so entrance that I can’t recall the full play list, but I know they played the following: Little Furry Things, No Bones, Forget The Swan, Bulbs of Passion, Just Like Heaven, Freak Scene, and more. They were hands down the best performance of the weekend. I have not developed my pics yet, but I found one at the link below.
PS. J said "Hello" and "Thanks". Awesome.

crazycloudParticipant1st dinosaur show! 104 degrees!!! holy shit!! now i remember why i moved out of chicago.. you sur epicked a good time to check out your first show… this is classic material //./.
that phot o of j rocking out is classic !! it looks like the heat has helped him drop a few pounds since i seen him play last year… and damn if he dont have the nicest looking marshall stack ive ever seen…. my one question for the whole thing is who the hell decided to make lollapalloza a one time one city thing??? the whole point of lollapalloza i thought was to bring indie, club, alternophenomenon bands to the people!!! we’re not all uper middle class jet setters here…J MASCIS is the supreme Marshall stack master!!!

tom_in_chicagoParticipantQuote:my one question for the whole thing is who the hell decided to make lollapalloza a one time one city thing??? the whole point of lollapalloza i thought was to bring indie, club, alternophenomenon bands to the people!!!I’m pretty sure this was because no one bought tickets for it in 2003/2004 (?). it was more of a corporophenomenon anyways as Perry Ferrell et al really had nothing to do with it other than name only.
