jizzleParticipantIn case everybody was worrying about me, i returned safely with public transportation from the AWESOME dino jr. show in gent that i saw earlier tonight. Tonight was a very special night because I’d have to say that it was probably the perfect concert that i never thought i’d ever attend – before the show, i bumped into J and his wife on the street and got him to autograph my homemade dinosaur jr. hat and i got to chat with the two of them plus a roadie (real nice dude). then the concert: it was crowded but i had so much space surrounding me to move around in, i was also leaning on the center of the stage so i basically had the best place in the whole damn thing; the show was awesome, during the middle or end of the set, i caught one of murph’s broken drumsticks! then, at the end of the show, Luisa came on stage and handed me lou’s setlist! fuckin crazay. the set went as followed:
gargoyle
in a jar
the post
repulsion
bulbs of passion
tarpit
raisans
little fury things
forget the sawn
kracked/sludgefeast
budge
the lung
freak scene
just like heaven
chunks
does it floatyeah, so it was pretty much the basic format of these last few shows. during the show lou reminded us that it was their last night in europe, which made us all feel special. he said it was the last night of their first reunion tour, which could be a hint towards the possibility of further touring in the next few years or maybe it just meant that it was the the end of their first leg of the reunion tour. whatever, now im just babbling like some geek fan. well hope you all enjoyed my excellent post, it’ll probably be my last on this site for a while. au revoir – jeeeosh

lookitssamParticipantAwesome story about meeting J. My buddy is gonna miss the Dino show when they come around here and he wants me to get something signed for him, but I’m way too much of a pussy to approach them
I wonder if they’ll ever play Keep the Glove on this tour? Or was that a post-Lou song?

zegboParticipantI was in Ghent too, and it was all that I hoped it would be: Loud, tight and exciting! Especially the wall of sound J and Lou produced in Little Fury Things, Kracked/Sludge Feast was very impressive. My ears are still ringing at the moment, and they stopped playing 11 hours ago!
In the beginning, Lou also announced that he had lost his voice 5 days ago. No wonder, he has to pay the price for all that furious screaming
After the show, Lou was walking around on stage with his little kid, all very nice.

FlyingCloudParticipantthanks for the setlist and the reviews! sounds like it was another exciting show
…Lou lost his voice! no wonder, all through the festival weekend it was way too cold for the season & rainy, and the screaming itself mustn’t be good for the throat, too
good they have a break now!

rambleonParticipantyeah, but after their break their tour schedule is punishing …
i hope they make it to the end of august … and beyond!!

rambleonParticipantbtw, that’s very cool that you met, j + luisa on the street … were they very talkative? j usually responds in a somewhat bewildered way when people talk to him!!
…
that’s also very cool that luisa made a point of giving you lou’s setlist

yeah meeting them was truly an awesome moment in my life. j did have this funny blank expression on his face when i approached him at first like "wtf is going on here" but eventually it was just such a cool normal conversation. he was holding the libertines’ first cd and i stated that i cant stand the "new wave of british retro bullshit" or somethin and he said that his friend lent it to him but forgot to put the cd in the case, aha it made us chuckle. luisa was pretty talkative and really nice, asking me where i was from on account of my accent and shtuff like that. actually, when i told them i grew up in greenwich, CT, the roadie guy who was there said that murph left his passport in greenwich at his moms house before they left for europe. its a small world…

MuziekfriekParticipantIt WAS a great gig, despite the lousy review in Gazet Van Antwerpen. The one in De Tijd was very positive though. I wrote my own review (in Dutch, I’m afraid). Check it out at :

There are some pics as well at

Lemme know what you think.
Btw, Jizzle, I saw you headbanging (and catching Murph’s drum stick) right in the middle of the stage. Your ears must still be ringing.

Nice! I dig J’s Wipers t-shirt. Greg Sage is a very sadly underrated — and under-heard — guitarist. He’s a total original, just like J.

FlyingCloudParticipantMuziekfriek, thanks a lot for the link with these excellent pics!
my dutch isn’t doing well, so I can’t read much of the review, but it’s always good to know that there are show reviews posted, to "spread the word" -
