Does anybody have info on what J uses to record in his studio ? I’m thinking he’s using tape instead of digital, probably a used 2" – 24 track tape machine and a decent mixer. I did some recording a few years ago on an Alesis ADAT 8 track digital machine and it just sucked when it comes to recording distortion guitar. I think distortion (especially J’s type) has so much harmonics that digital can’t capture it all, it ends up sounding a little flat and compressed.

BTW my name is Pete, i’m new here and a big fan of J’s music.
