Last nights show at the Black Cat in Washington D.C. was loud and smokey and the best show I’ve ever seen. The opening band, Elf Power, wasn’t that great but their bassist was a real showman. When J came on about half an hour late everyone rushed to the front already giving him the metal salute while I stood at the side on a riser like bench taking pictures of the band. I know they played the Wagon first and then I’m not fine. Then I know they played a medley and basicly all of their new album. I have emailed watt asking for the setlist but who knows if he’ll respond. The show was plauged with sound problems and this weird tape of someone yelling obsenities was constantly running in between songs as J was smirking at Watt. I was absolutely blown away. I really have done a poor job at describing what I’ve seen, but let me tell you…it was the best thing I’ve ever witnessed. If the crew is coming near your town you must go or you will hate yourself forever. I will have pics to show and tell about in a few days.

righteous vibes to all mascis fans. I dedicate this next bong hit to Mike Watt, and to clear eyes. Mindbeams of positive vibage to those reading.
i was present at the black cat on mon april 9. j mascis played a great set, and i have reason to believe that he smoked a joint right before the show, hence his being a 1/2 hr late. so long, my compadres.

Yeah, the gang was really late to get started and Watt has said the only thing he does drug wise is pot. An article at hootpage.com explains he likes to get high before shows if people hook him up. Wish I could go to the show in baltimore but i cant get a ride
