JohnnyLowell2ParticipantI went to the show @ HOB in Anaheim on friday night and it was awesome. J played classics mixed in with some new stuff. He opened with the Lung and What Else is New, played Same Day and Freedom, and then played Out There, Thumb, Little Fury Things, Alone, the Wagon, a couple more new ones, and closed the show with Freakscene and Sludgefeast. Of course there were tons of solos and it was super loud. Props to J + the Fog. It was an awesome show. I had a blast. I’ll definitely be there for the next OC show.

rambleonParticipantgreat … glad to hear you had such a great time … so far, all the reviews of the w.coast shows have mentioned how good the new lineup is …

FlyingCloudParticipantthanks a lot for the Anaheim review JohnnyLowell2, and welcome here on the site!
so it looks like all westcoast Fog shows we’ve heard of here were going great and had 100% sound and atmosphere😀
oh man, how much would I love to hear Out There (…to say nothing of the other songs…)June 15, 2004 at 4:06 pm #103019
umascowParticipantthis was probably my fifteenth or sixteenth time I’ve seen Dino/J. It was amazingly loud! It hasn’t been that loud in awhile.
the new drummer is a breath of fresh air. I will always love Murph and I hope he will return to the line up someday but Kyle Spence was perfect. He is very creative and plays hard. Sludgefeast was great to hear again, its been awhile. I was disapointed the last time I saw J electric (mostly because it was half Stooges tunes) but J definately redemeed himself.June 16, 2004 at 1:03 pm #103020
FlyingCloudParticipanthey umascow, nice to see you around here again, and thanks a lot for your thoughts on the show
From everything I’ve heard so far, Kyle Spence rocks! hope I’ll have the chance once to see him play, ideally with the Fog, of course, but I’d go to see him with The Tom Collins or another projectJune 16, 2004 at 2:48 pm #103021
JayneParticipantDefinitely check out The Tom Collins if you liked Kyle’s style. They are a fantastic 3-piece band. I’ll try to remember to post a bit torrent link of their live stuff soon. If you live in GA, come check them out at AthFest on Fri night. http://www.athfest.com
And while I’m plugging away, check out one of Dave’s (the bass player with the Fog) other side projects The Stockholm Syndrome. They are fairly new (started out last year as 2 guys and now have a full band). The guy doing most of the vocals and right now, most of the songwriting, is Jerry Joseph and is by far, one of my favorite songwriters. I think people here will probably appreciate his style. Y’all seem like a hip bunch:-) I saw the first 3 shows of the US debut of the new lineup and highly recommend this band to you guys. They are definitely not afraid to rock and J’s fans can appreciate that I think. http://www.stockholmsyndromeband.com or check out Jerry’s songwriting at http://www.jerryjoseph.com (under lyrics). They’re touring the US this summer. Check it out.
Just trying to turn some folks on to some other good music…there is soooo much out there!

AnnastefkaParticipantI want to get in a plug also, if in Athens this weekend come see Frank Williams play his slide guitar at Clocked (3doors down from 40 watt) on Saturday night around 9pm, my husband Juan and our good friend Kiyoaki will be doing wild sound art at the X Ray Cafe (next to clocked) from 10 until they fall down. I will be home reading to the children but hey, it’s still a pretty good life.
Thanks Jayne for bringing it up, Athfest and Stockholm Syndrome, and The Tom Collins, a band worth going to see for sure.

Little GalParticipantJust wanted to agree with how awesome the Anaheim show was. I last saw J about 10 years ago and it was such an honor to see him again. The show ROCKED in every way. Kyle was great on drums and a pleasure to watch. J was charming as ever.
