Euh, I know it’s a bad joke..May 22, 2004 at 10:25 am #102009
simmons, not to take all of this too seriously. These are just opinions and ponderings. I have enjoyed reading down this thread. It is alot like my house on a Friday night with everyone sitting around the table, we all don’t think the same, and how many times have I wished others would just SEE THE LIGHT, and AGREE with ME.
I am almost 40 years old and I think most of us become somewhat SXE at this time. I am taking my children to swim in the Broad river today, as a parent, you just can’t be stoned and effective.
Oh, I see you are also a Gemini, with a birthday coming soon.
What a great time of year, ehh?May 22, 2004 at 10:43 am #102010
that’s what’s great about a forum, we all get the chance to say our opinions and what we feel. My perception was that this thread was developing in a direction I don’t see any positive outcome in.
but that’s just my view.
yeah, the weather is getting better and better at this time of year. I like that. It’s possible to sit out now with beer and barbeque. I don’t read my horoscope, but I think there is something happening in my life soon..May 22, 2004 at 11:08 am #102011
Euh, I know it’s a bad joke..
I really hope J was on some rx’ed drugs when that pic was taken, that’s from a hospital in Sweden, after the big crash, when he injured a couple vertebraeMay 22, 2004 at 12:13 pm #102012
I agree with Coma Girl on all of her above posts.
but I did want to share with you a banner that I wrote
for a pot rally many years ago.
LETS NOT FORGET
WHO GAVE US POT,
WE WANT TO SAY,
HEY,GOD THANKS ALOT!
This pot rally was held like on May 5th, the same day as the National Day of Prayer, The Christians were on the other side of the street, I felt like I could stand on either side of the road, it was great.
Anthony, that poem can be for you and my husband.May 22, 2004 at 2:45 pm #102013
great collection of quotes, bluemind, especially this:"bluemind" wrote:…Mascis says when asked about what’s the biggest misperception about him. "People always thought I was on drugs."
I agree with simmons that it’s not appropriate to speculate about the concrete drug use of other people, taking into accout that it’s illegal in most countries… although nothing can be said about a more general exchange of opinions of courseMay 24, 2004 at 10:14 am #102014
Too bad, we could end this thread with the image I have had in my mind from the moment I read Morecowbell’s post. He said " I keep hearing conflicting accounts of him (J) having the "Edge" and all I could think about was J opening the trunk of his car and pulling out that guy from U2 and telling him "Listen here, if you just pay attention you could learn a few new things to do with your guitar before you bore the crap out of the world"
Then Bono is asking around "Has anyone seen Edge" and the answer would be "I have heard J Mascis has him"May 24, 2004 at 12:41 pm #102015
Oh Annastefka!! That is possibly the best thing I’ve read for ages!!
You allmost made me puke my dinner all over the monitor from laughing so hard after reading your post!!May 24, 2004 at 1:29 pm #102016
the thing is that i wonder why pot heads always think cool people DEFINITELY smoke too !?
as if people who smoke had a special face ?
i am sick of hearing people telling me "they know i do drugs" when i never did !May 24, 2004 at 4:19 pm #102017

Im not sure but i remember some song where i think J sings something about being stoned, but offcourse it is no "evidence"..(and who cares? )May 25, 2004 at 8:45 am #102019
yeah that must be in ‘ tell the truth’
maybe in other songs too, but it’s diificult for non native english speakers to know all the meaning of words and slang.
don’t you agree Aatos?
Quite funny the joke about ‘the Egde’. his guitarplaying in songs like ‘where the street has no name’ was influential, but his playing has become quite boring/clishe. I’ve heard enough off those ‘delay riffs’.May 26, 2004 at 8:15 am #102020
Simmons: Yes, i agree!!
