everyonelovesjaronParticipantI’ve been thinking about this alot lately. I guess, I think not. There’s a couple other songs I think would make much better singles, radio play wise. Same Day and I’m Not Fine especially stand out.
I realize that as an indie band, J. doesn’t really have to be concerned with radioplay. But, some stations here in Richmond do play them. XL102 has played Where’d You Go quite a few times, but when I called them about Waistin’ they said it wasn’t going to go into regular rotation. I think some other songs off the album would prolly get some play.
Anyone else agree/disagree?

JavroModeratorI actually agree with ya, Jaron. Same Day would kick ass – let’s hope its being lined up for the next one. Waistin’ is great live, and Watt pulls the best faces when hammering the bass line.
Gotta love Watt’s face pullin’

BartmanParticipantGuys, I’m completely with you on this. First time I heard the album, I immediately thought Same Day would make the perfect single. All The Girls would also be nice imho
Then again, I don’t really think that a lot of the younger kids are "interested" in this kind of music, so it probably won’t make a lot of difference what the new single is. Here in Belgium most of the youngsters are into the so called nu-metal. But hey, maybe it’s just me getting too old for this s*&^.
It’s funny though, I’m 25 and at The Fog’s concert in December I was one of the younger people there, while at the rare parties I go to, I’m with the older ones

JavroModeratorMaybe for more commercial success J should heed the lesson of the master of lyricism, Fred Durrst.
"you’d better get some better beats and
er, get some better rhymes"True that, Fred.

Jeremiah, can we set up some kind of rule so this does not happen again?

SGParticipantI agree with you there, dfkgurl. When I went through the list for other people`s fav bands, someone did mention Limp Bizkit.
At least you mentioned Rein Sanction, they were awesome!
Johnbonhamisgod mentioned limp as well,but I think he was joking(I hope).July 13, 2001 at 11:51 am #53400

Agreed, We will have to have to add a filter for that type of stuff ASAP!!!

everyonelovesjaronParticipantYes, Fred Durst should have his nostrils raped. (Er, um, I’m also joking…)
But all Bizkit bashing aside, Same Day would make a better single then Waistin’, as I’ve already said, and I’m glad alot of you agreed that I wasn’t loopy in thinking J.’s (or whoever makes the decision) latest choice for single was a bit questionable.

rdParticipantI think Same Day is the most radio friendly song on the cd. I actually heard my college’s radio station play it a while back. I would have liked Ground Me to You to be released as a single. It’s probably less radio friendly that Same Day but I seems to be a little more poppier than Waistin’. Basically, while Waistin’ is a good song, it just doesn’t sound like a song that would catch your attention on the radio. I never would have figured that Waistin’ would have been released as a single. The majority of the tracks on More Light seem to me to be more radio friendly than Waistin’.

johnbonhamisgodParticipantMy opinion was that "I’m Not Fine" would have been a great follow up single to "Where’d You Go", but then the band isn’t called George Berz and the Fog. As for that favorite bands list, it disturbs me that anyone would have to ask if that was about sarcasm. When we were in Japan, J mentioned to someone at our label there that he refered to that shit as "date rape rock." The label dude said, "Here we refer to it as ‘sports metal.’"
Here’s a question for all the ladies out there. How is it possible the Fred Durst manages to get laid? I would think that everything about that guy would turn girls and gay men off! But I suppose that if you’re on this BBS, then you wouldn’t see the attraction either.July 14, 2001 at 2:40 am #53408

Only answer I have is that, fortunately for Fred, there are female equivalents of himself.
