rosaParticipantHey Allison,
I saw that phobia book at the comic store not too long ago; freaked me out! That’s pretty funny that you got it as a gift, but it seems to suit you somehow And a Betty Boop shower curtain…how cool is that?? You’ll have to tell me where you got it sometime. When she was little, my sister’s nickname was Betty Boop because of a striking resemblance; we still get her stuff with her likeness on it from time to time.
Did you ever find the Pee Wee Christmas special?
xo
Rosap.s. Mafioso, no presents? Would you like me to send you something??

AGAPParticipantHey Rosa,
That book is pretty creepy, but so cool at the same time!!! Cool that you saw it, definitely like that kind of thing…have a pop up book on the brain, very cool. Yeah I’m a geek…
http://popupbooks.net/BookB/B72.html
That Betty Boop shower curtain is great, will send you a link to an internet site with tons of stuff. Embarassed to say just how many things I have but its >20 Your sister doesn’t sound like her I hope…that would be difficult to deal with
Have a great new year Rosa!!!
Allison
ps I think vg got the peewee xmas deal off ebay, hasn’t come yet thou, but I have some evidence to suggest that its on the way

rosaParticipantYou do the same, bates!
If you’re ever in the Bay Area, you gotta check out the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum. One room is a graveyard, with some kind of 3-d video projection of a little man that climbs out of an urn and talks to you. Pretty wild.
Thanks for the link too- very cool! A pop-up brain! I’ve heard that childhood memories can be instantly recalled by tickling part of a person’s brain during surgery…always wondered about that! I went through a brief phase where I wanted to be a brain surgeon…I think that was after the astronaut phase but before the soap opera actress phase
Here’s to hoping that your (possibly impending) belated Christmas gift finds you well!
take care

staingirlParticipantHey Allison…
I have the Pee Wee Xmas special. Maybe one day (if yours never arrives) I could send you a copy.
As for my presents…I was pretty spoiled so it’s hard to only name a few. I guess some of my faves would be:
– black and red small purse shaped like an old bowling bag
– The Smiths and Requiem for a Dream DVDs
– Belle and Sebastian & Sigur Ros CDs
– Hello Kitty vibrator
– Photography guide bookI hope everyone had a great holiday! And happy New Year to you all!
December 27, 2001 at 4:22 pm #67110
malcomParticipantHey staingirl, I got a (female) friend with one of those purses, Don’t know If she has a hello kitty vibrator tho
My faves-
-New leather Jacket-guess I just lost my indie cred
-10 space SKB rack-finally
-Subscription to Vintage Guitar magazine
-Notes From a Small Island by Bill Bryson-technicly a Birfday present, but still very cool.December 27, 2001 at 4:35 pm #67111
John DysonParticipantOur band could be your life book – superb so far…
Also CDs by Radiohead- live ep thing
Pulp – new album
Ride – Box set including best of/ live 1992/ rarities. That last pressie I am especially happy with – dont know if anyone on here likes Ride – there early stuff was much like Kevin Shields and MBV. Became a bit more mellow and trad later.
Guitarist is now bassist in Oasis.
Also got other books on sport but I don’t know how many people here are interested in cricket!

MattmanParticipantHey Salamiguy, ‘Down Colorful Hill’ is a great album, but I’m sure you’re aware of that by now…
As for my presents…
A new coat (no leather here ) for those colden days… Well, cold for Florida anyway. Generally it’s in the 50’s F (10’s C) so that’s probably approaching summer time for you Canadian folk.
Also some flannel PJ’s (see above). No cool zebra stripes for me though. Just basic plaid kinda patterns.
A cordless phone / answering machine combo deal. Now I gotta figure out how to use it…
A new alarm clock / radio. It’s about time too. I’ve had my old one for litterally more than 15 years, but it started to become unreliable in its funtionality, so I had to retire it…
Some cool plastic thingies that lock the strap to my guitar… No more having it fall off my shoulder whilst playing.
And this robotic stegosuarus dinosaur thing that walks and makes noises. A complete surprise from "The Clause". Pretty fun letting it chase after the cat…

AGAPParticipantHey,
I think someone out there is making fun of wicked Canadian winters…hmmm I’m thinking siberian cold air going his way
Staingirl that sounds like an offer I may not be able to refuse, so will keep that in mind…very cool offer.

JavroModeratorStaingirl – requiem for a dream ain’t exactly a cheery
christmas movie is it? Watched it on a Sunday night
and was terrified straight through till work on the
Monday.Had a wonderful Christmas and got spoilt rotten by
my mother (only child syndrome – until the folks
re-married, now I have seven delightful siblings).Allison and any other Candians – WATCH OUT. Javro is
coming to a piste near you (although probably not, cause
I hear that Canada is bigger than the UK Anyway,
will be in the Rockies for a while after January’s
credit card bills have been paid.Have a great new year all. First one to puke wins!
Big Love
Ben
