Sitting in my rocking chair nursing the baby and I see mgreenia online.
I think to myself, I know who that is. Did you make the Atlanta show? What did you think?

"Stadium sound in a Smith’s-sized room"

That’s how I would sum it up. The Atlanta show was great. They were loud as fuck and the audience was really into it. I was suprised to see Dave playing so loud and rough, it really came across well. Never heard of The Tom Collins, but I’m definitely enamoured of any drummer that’s as hard-hitting as Kyle.

There’s almost no need to go on and on about how great J was. Not to take it for granted, but damn, there’s just too much to say. I’m always pleased with "Out There", while "Ammaring" was on another planet.

I’ve already downloaded and burned Sloan’s wonderful recordings of the show from freesofree.net. You should check it out if you have the bandwidth. Thanks a ton for the Caledonia recordings. That was really cool and I do appreciate it.

My little band is getting into shape and I hope to take it onstage before too long. It’s just me and a bassist right now, but we figure we might meet a drummer if we start playing out more. I cover "Water" and "Out There" sometimes, but we’re not a cover band. Once I think we’ve got something to shout about, I intend to take the show to Athens. I’ll be sure to let you know.

Yeah, we tried to move to the mountains, we tried to move to the beach, but we don’t really have much to run away from these days. Lou finished school in August and has been working out of town. Now i’m just pluggin’ away day by day.

Anyway, I was glad to hear that everything is well with you and the baby. I’ve been spending a little more time on Freakscene lately, so I’ll see you around. Say hey to everybody for me!

Hey, If you still have the files on your computer from the Smith’s show Could you burn one for me? I am surprised to hear the show was so loud! I thought it had been toned down for the 40 watt show, it was loud but not uncomfortable. The Tom Collins band is worth seeing, I really liked them. I feel I am getting much to old to check out new music, which is really sad. Even my friends from New York who have no children say it is getting harder and harder to stay up past midnight to see music. Enjoy your youth. I enjoyed my younger days as much as I enjoy now coming home and sinking into my feather bed and pulling the blankets and quilts up around me and reading a book. Are you coming to Athens for Thanksgiving? We are heading to Atlanta this afternoon to spend a few days with the Republicans. How bad is it, well, My step-mother is the president of the OHIO womens Republican club and was able to get George Bush to visit my fathers work on the last day of the campaign, George visited ABX Air/ DHL in Wilmington, Ohio. My sisters father-in-law
is a ceo of a very big corporation that gave major money for the Bush re-election. So this Thanksgiving I guess it will be my job to just spread the love around to them all. P.s. A good drummer is hard to find I would think. I can only keep a beat for about 2 minutes before my arms get tired ( and I get distracted) and lose it. Playing for an hour or more is CRAZY. "Ammaring" is out of this world. I wonder if J dreams about playing that song? It seems so "burned into him"

I would be happy to return the favor for the Caledonia show and send you a copy of the Smith’s show. I really appreciate you sending that my way. What’s your mailing address? If you don’t want it on Freakscene, drop it into my email: [email protected].

I’m an old man already. I just turned 27 on Sunday. I was able to stay wide awake for J, but I otherwise find myself turning toward home earlier and earlier. I have the "pillowtop mattress / 4 down pillows / down comforter" syndrome too. I went to another show at Smith’s last week and had to leave before midnight.

I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year. Mom and Corinna will be coming over and spending the night with me in Atlanta. Have a good holiday and hug everybody for me, even republicans. Happy holidays!

Me and Matlock have been through quite a few adventures together. Brothers in arms. Best lawyer there is.

I would think that he would need the entire dino/j discography to make up for giving money to walker texas danger

Hey, I just received the Atlanta Smith’s show CD’s thanks via UPS, Wow, J’s guitar on "Lung" sounds different, different notes in the lead, I like it.

Sounds like new toys, or something something else.

Gosh, Everybody Lets me down, So nice. I dig Kyle’s drumming, What a monster. Thanks, MGREENIA
