timppa67ParticipantHey, I have been a fan of J Mascis since about 1990 when I saw Freak Scene on MTV. Where you been has been my favourite album since it came out and it will be forever, I quess.
I saw J Mascis playing an acoustic set seven years ago in Tavastia, Helsinki.
This is almost unbelievable. Two years ago I saw my other favourite Sonic Youth in Ilosaarirock festival (Joensuu, Finland) and now this. Makes me smile. I hope Tavastia club will be full of Dinosaur fans in August!

andyfestParticipantWelcome to the site! Always good to have new faces…er…screen names around here.
I think a lot of us are kind of in the same boat as you. We got into Dino in the early 90s, some never saw the original lineup live, some (me included
) have never seen Dino live at all!
Where You Been is also my favorite but I love it all. I’m geeked to see J, Lou, Murph in a couple of weeks!

FlyingCloudParticipanthey timppa 67, great to see that more finnish fans find their way here to the board
so cool, Dinosaur Jr stop by in Helsinki, I wish you a great time at the showJune 30, 2005 at 4:56 am #110520
AatosParticipantYepp, really nice that a Dino fan from Finland(besides me) is showing interest to FS msgboard! I’m sure there will be a good show at Tavastia! Of what I read on radio helsinki:s msgboard there seems to be people heading to tavastia at 10 august.
I’ve been into Dinosaur Jr since the early 00’s…
Not the average Dinosaur Jr age, but, I think Dino is getting more new, younger fans all the time, which I think is good. Atleast I’m always trying to get my friends into Dino!

AnnastefkaParticipantA welcome from me also, is all the snow off the ground yet?
We have a Finnish family that we "watch" on a web-cam. My children are of couse strangly facinated by Finland, with the long days in summer and short in winter. This family has a camera outside a window and you can see the snow growing and growing all winter long, and my children (the youngest have never seen snow, the oldest only twice, and that was less than an inch)
are very Jealous, this family has a sauna also and my children want a sauna, we tell them in Georgia it’s called "Summer" just go sit outside in a chair.Welcome, welcome, fans from Finland.

timppa67ParticipantThanks a lot for your nice welcoming messages! I think I will follow this forum also in the future!
I try to write some kind of report of the gig for you, although I’not very good in translating my impressions of the music into words! (even in Finnish!)
Anyway, I’m planning to take a camera with me so I can put photos available for you. I hope it is not forbidden.
Yes, all the snow has gone from the ground almost two months ago
By the way, I just ordered tickets for me two other long-time Dino fans!

AatosParticipantCrazyloud: Hehe, thanks! Actually I was really into skateboardfotography for a couple of years ago. Unfortunately my wallet ended up empty. Developing the fotos was quite expensive… Hehe..
Too many bad pictures.
Bam seems to be big everywhere. He is the skateboarder who is known by people who doesn’t skate. He visits Finland quite often because he is a big fan of Him. I have seen him live and he seems quite funny.

AatosParticipantHey, I’ve always thought that this park is somewhere in Philadelphia. I have seen it several times in skatevideos. Bam has many tricks caught on tape in that park.
