AnthonyParticipanti think the people (shame on them) who dont like green mind are the people who do the cd reviews and only listen to them like one time. green mind rules, always has, and always will.
"on the outside, is where they always hide. come to my side and i’ll introduce you to… some of their kind"……….

maxiniParticipantHey, this J character, who incidentally must’ve stolen the glasses my mom wore in the 70s, got it all wrong. The correct answer still is ..

JebusParticipantGreen Mind was my introduction to DJr. I wore out two cassettes before I went back to listening to other stuff. Not only is it my favorite DJr. album…but it’s definately in my favorite five albums of all time.
Green Mind fuckin’ rocks. How ya like ‘dem apples?

K7 Rides AgainParticipantall right heads…I listened to Green Mind in it’s entirity today and I have to say it’s absolutely wonderful. Right from the get-go…Wagon- listen to it carefully, it’s a five minute long solo…the shear amount of melodic skill throughout the entire piece is incredible. Flying Cloud- is so fuckin’ dreamy, I feel like i’m on a flying cloud when listening to it, just floating along. How’d ya pin that one on me- if you’re looking for the hard rockin’ Dino of the previous albums look no further than this song, loud and strong, fades out for a second and then bam! back into some incredible wailing guitar, bass, and drums for the next minute and a half. Blowing it-another classic and Iove the way it melds into I live for that look (hey! I live for that look!) which also has a lot of great soloing towards the end bfore the final verse. Water-another musical masterpiece. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…the imagery/symbolism in this song is just…it’s just… just…undescribable. another song that’s really just a huge solo with many solos thrown on top. Jesus…between almost every verse J takes the time to go into an additional musical interlude. Thumd- a great version of this song, very easy to relax to and just kick it and finally…Green mind- I love this song, another musical masterpiece. when you focus in and start hearing all the different notes/sounds coming out of that man’s guitar you just can’t help but totally getting lost in it. It’s so energetic with out being highly aggressive.
I think Green Mind is "tighter" than the earlier released albums (i listened to bug too, for comparison). It just seems more focused/directed than earlier stuff. J knows where he wants to go musically and lyrically with every song and has absolutely no trouble getting there. The neck of his guitar surely had to have been worn down after producing this one cuz’ he’s all over the thing. I love the Dino of old, but I think Green Mind is a benchmark in the development of Dino. You can just hear a difference in the skill and tact that’s gone into this one that weren’t there previously. And you can see the transition that’s leading up to Where You Been and Without A Sound. Well that’s my two cents…we’re all nuts so who helps who?peace, kurtis

K7 Rides AgainParticipanthey what can I say…they’re my fav. band and i’ve been hooked since ’93 or ’94 so i guess it just comes naturally to break them down and discover what they all mean to me as an individual!
I still think it would be sweet if we disected all these songs into there true meaning -
