green mind side note

jsut wondering what everyone else’s interpretation of a "green mind" actually is. I always figured it was about an alternate state of mind experienced after smoking the herb. It seems to have several references in that direction. But I’d really love to hear what you all think the "green mind" is. So…post away!

yeah…nice! I had definately picked up on the social viewpoints/attitudes expressed and his evalution/re-evaluation of thoughts and opinions. (just thought they were realized/ understood after a puff) but I guess that part isn’t necessary. The "green" threw me off. I’ve never heard it used like that (better start consulting Mr. Webster more often [img]images/smiles/converted/biggrin.gif[/img] ).

I always thought of "them" as being other people but it totally makes since that "them is other people’s thoughts/ideas/views as well as other people [img]images/smiles/converted/biggrin.gif[/img]

Maybe we should start a specialized disecting unit dedicated to the sole purpose of breaking down and interpreting each Dino song word for word until we can cole to an agreeable conclusion as to what each means [img]images/smiles/converted/cool.gif[/img]

side note-back to the blob-he definately could be talking about the real movie "blob"- but the song is still more about someone he associates with it rather than the actual "blob" itself. what do you think?

I know exaclty where your coming from. I’ve definately seen the bottom of the barrel and met with the most elite in my quests. The worst was always playing the "waiting game". Sometimes it would last for days, but I was always willing to play. Got onto a lot of harder things, too, so I’ve seen a lot. The week long trips, the all weekend long binges where sleep was just a far off place that I’d never get to, the emotions running high and out of control…Still enjoy the occasional puff but not like I used to…every now and then is more than enough. Alas, it’s just not for me anymore, guess that’s what happens when you grow up. It was fun for a while, but there’s just too much at risk in it now. all the people I’ve hurt…family, friends, girlfriends…The scum you have to associate with, pimps, skanks, jail time, property seizures, guns, beatings, maybe even the loss of your life. (I know a guy who had his face completely rearranged with a 2×4, they needed a picture to reconstruct it, all over a several hundred dollar owed debt…some people don’t fuck around) it’s just not worth it…not anymore…probably, no, surely never was worth it. Definately a case of youthful innocence lost. But I’m smarter and better because of it now. Try to live our lives in the most productive ways possible I guess. Live and learn. Thank god J was there too support me through it all…

I `ve seen a Frogs cd around,I did some reading on them and found that they were formed in 1980,there`s 2 of them,two brothers,I guess they`re like Ween by the sound of it,wacky stuff,I also heard that Nirvana,Pearl Jam,and the Smashing Pumpkins are fans.
I have`nt heard anything by them so I can`t recommend anything.I don`t think J was refering to them,I think frogs was a metaphor maybe for SY or people he feels he has nothing in common with.

i always thought the frogs was just that, frogs. you know, a place of solitude he goes to to get away from it all and just think by himself…next to a river, a brdge over a pond etc.. He says "come to my side and I’ll introduce you to…some of their kind…might be with them tonight…" Hanging with the frogs i.e. hanging with HIS ideas. "Some of their kind" being the thoughts he has rather than everyone else’s.
Here’s another part though that I think tweed is involved cuz’ he says "gotta unfry ‘fore I take it up with you." He has to come down off his buzz and get away from his thought’s (back to reality) to focus in on other things.

I don’t think pond song was about drugs but the one two songs before it is…Yeah We Know

there’s a few other lines that made me think but I can’t remember what they are and the cd’s in my car so this post stops there.
