FlyingCloudParticipantin the first months of 2004 I thought, there are no great albums in sight anywhere, but nowadays there’s no need for that kind of pessimism, as there were pretty many great albums so far this year!
my top 10 list of favourite 2004 albums is:
Modest Mouse – Good News For People Who Love Bad News
Sonic Youth – Sonic Nurse
Blonde Redhead – Misery is a Butterfly
The Thermals – Fuckin A
Morrissey – You Are The Quarry
Adam Green – Friends of Mine
Mark Lanegan – Bubblegum
The Stands – All Years Leaving
Marjorie Fair – Self Help Serenade…other 2004 albums which crossed my way, where I’m still undecided if I like them:
Wilco – A Ghost is Born
Graham Coxon – Happiness In Magazines
Robert Pollard – Fiction Man
Lambchop – Aw C’mon / Now You C’mon
Franz Ferdinand – Franz Ferdinand…and where I didn’t listen enough for a conclusion:
Iron And Wine – Our Endless Numbered Days
Jim White – Drill A Hole In That Substrate And Tell Me What You See
Juliana Hatfield – In Exile Deo
The Hives – Tyrannosaurus Hives
The Secret Machines – Now Here Is NowhereI’m sure I overlooked some, so please add your lists!
