Tocotronic is one of the very very few German bands, which I can stand… their music is nice, unpretentious and intelligent… and they seem to have a good taste in music, either <img> <img> <img>

Tocotronic is one of my cult bands. I first saw this guys in the old MTV’s (fuck it) show called Alternative Nation, a great tv show. I mean, they used to show great videos of real indie bands.
I even remember a special dedicated to the quintessential kraut band "Can".
And they used to play Tocotronic a lot. So I felt in love with this band. Unfortunaletely I never found their cds in Italy. I only have a recent one, don’t remember the title, with a black cover and a starhip draw inside, but is not that great..it’s ok. I’m sure their old stuff is much better. Any of you german guys wants make some cdr copies of those cds for me. In exchange for I can offer lots of music from indie bands, 70’s, 80’s, free jazz etc.

seeing the german quote reminded of something a girl said to me when I was in germany some years ago(actually it’s 5 years since I last was there.)
I met her at a club in Münster, she was pretty and liked Turbonegro so I smiled alot that evening.

She was great fun, but I opted for tons of beer and a deathpunk concert with friends instead of talking to her -not sure she liked me or just got a kick out of the fact that I sucked in german. My german isn’t excactly great, so I didn’t understand all she said.
When I was leaving she bent over and whispered something like: "I möchten Dich runtherholen," with a big smile.

I never found out what that meant, so if den buck or someone else who speaks german could translate it I would appreciate it. It has started to haunt me again, after all these years. Please make it go away!

they made cool music befor they broke…..rio reiser died in 1996 <img>

after reading it I understand why you brought up the censorship deal dB..

as for missing out on something….well…if I had understood what she was saying…some of the magic would’ve been gone…and no way I would let someone I didn’t really know….
