Gotta add that Die Toten Hosen and Rammstein do NOT rock in my little scheme of things, but each little scheme of things to their own.

SGParticipant18th Dye were great, they were based in Germany but 2 members I think were Danish,1 was German.
They split and Wuhling came out of them.
I saw a Galaxie 500 tribute album somewhere`s and 18th Dye was on it,did they get back together?anyone know?September 24, 2001 at 6:38 pm #65359
eggwaterParticipantFaust
Blumfeld
Bob Lund – a track I once heard on MTV by this band…it was awesome but I’ve never seen anything by them.
To Rocco Rot – are good nu-Krautrock.City Slang is a german label, I thing Glitterhouse who brought all the Sub Pop stuff to europe wsas German too.
If you want decent stuff from Germany look no further than the techno scene – Berlin’s Tresor label is good. There’s also a guy who goes under the name Isolee on Playhouse records who makes beautiful electronic stuff.
is anyone seriously into Rammstein?

Are you sure you’re not referring to the swedish band Bob Hund here? (incidentally, they’re from a small university town called Lund ) They’re great – especially live – and have had a few songs played on MTV 120 mins.September 24, 2001 at 6:58 pm #65361

turnipfarmerParticipantthere are more non-German musicians that I’m fond of, but there are definitely some good ones. if you like to check out some German bands that don’t fall into the lederhosen-bratwurst-krautrock clichè, take a listen to those following:
tocotronic
element of crime
(early) blumfeld
kante
deine lakaien/veljanov
the inchtobokatables
the notwist
blackmail
scumbucket
console
funkstörung

</STRONG><HR></BLOCKQUOTE>I must totally disagree with you! The music Rammstein makes is not always very delicate (I don’t like all the lyrics, especially in songs like "Bück dich" and "Rein raus"), but they made some really good songs. And: THEY SURE KNOW HOW TO ROCK!!
Their last album "Mutter" is one of my favorite albums of this moment and I look forward to 4 December when they play in Amsterdam.Anyway, I’m glad we don’t all like the same bands, what a boring world this would be!
