I had this idea when I was jamming last weekend. I know a bunch of folks on this board are in bands and cover Dinosaur, so I was thinking we all record a song and make a tribute or something. Maybe post it on FreeSoFree.

    Who knows.

That’s a great idea, it would be really cool to hear fans have a go at some dinosaur jr, It’s a shame I don’t have anything to record with otherwise I’d be glad to contribute, but I’m sure there are many others out there who will

Yea, I recently got a 16 track mixing board for cheap ($100 cheap) so I can start to record stuff with my band now.

If more people are interested I’ll work on recording some stuff and post it. If not, that’s cool too.

Hey….this idea has came up quite a few times on this here board of ours. I still think it’s a good idea, we were going to do this when J was injured in the Van wreck but no one ever did anything I don’t think (and I was even in a studio in Nashville at the time). I wanted to do Out There of course, but someone here said they wanted to hear Randy Jane’s version of The Little Baby. I am going to go look at some recording gear soon I hope. Maybe Randy Jane can make appearance on the compilation……which is what I think we should do. I think we should record our covers and load them on a site and get a cover image or something and let you download the songs of the site….then burn a copy.

THEN……we could have J give reviews!!!!!!! That would rock.
Sure it would be great to have a contest and have everyone from the boards vote for thier fave’s and the winning band gets to go meet J and see a show……..but then, who’s paying for that? A review from my favorite performer of my bands recording is way good enough for me.

My band has messed around with a few Dino songs… Tarpit, Alone, Repulsion, Sludgefeast, Water… maybe we could pull together one of those. I guess if I had my choice, I’d prefer either Tarpit or Alone.

I would LOVE to see this!! In fact – we should make a contest out of it!

One of these days I’ll get around to recording some songs. I have the equipment I just need to set it up and get it working. Hopefully in a few weeks.

I can`t play guitar that well and don`t have the equipment :( If I did I`d do an accapella version of Throw Down 8)

Bring it on! There used to be a techno version of "The Wagon" floating around from a Japanese band a few years ago. Would be cool to here some new twists on the classics. I have been wanting to do some Dino/J Mashups forever but can’t find the time lately…..

i could probly do a cover of repulsions, or forget the swan, or budge, bt i dont have a bass rig or drum kit or recording stuff. but i know where i can get some, so i might add something.

I downloaded RSTGuitar’s cover of Tarpit, so I’ll add that to the tribute, unless he doesn’t want me to.

My recording ‘studio’ is finally working, so once I’m done recording some of my band’s songs I’ll post a Dinosaur cover.
