HalfmanParticipantTony,
I live about 2 1/2 hours away or about 100-110 mi. If I play my cards right, I might get to chill out at my Ma’s over in Hammond, IN which is only about 20 miles away. Will need to bust serious ass on schoolwoork from now until then to pull it off either way.
Plan 2 is hooking up with travelers and going in on a hotel room. I know the outlying south suburbs well and good rates out of the city are out there. Who knows, might be ok to do it in the city itself, but Chicago city tax is a mutha on anything you buy there.
I am up for suggestions outside of this if someone gets spunky. Might try to get some punkers at school to go, including a nice young lady in my biology class

HalfmanParticipantTony,
Funny you should metion the superhalfman thing…. I was going to ask Matty about what it would take to get a big colorful "1/2" with legs and a cape….
You sure you can’t get an Amtrak ticket? Hope you are not having to work weekends as well. That sucks bad.
Thinking way ahead, I might be able to get a camera as well. If I do, is there a place I should mail copies of pix? Don’t have the scanner set up and not real sure on how to use it. Drat.October 15, 2001 at 3:15 am #62302

HalfmanParticipantJust awaiting (2) tix in the mail. All things seem to be go. Have a place to stay enroute to and fro if alone. Haven’t convinced he she or it to ride along but until I have tickets in had, have to be careful of promising the world 😛
Still no folks in Great Lakes or what not giving this any thought?

HalfmanParticipantGot an email from The Empty Bottle today. I guess they just put you on a list and you show an ID when you get there. I have two seats reserved and so far it’s just me going so if anyone is interested let me know soon and you might get a free seat. I do not mind sending for more also. Am awaiting a response on the state of seats overall from the Bottle folks so will let you know.

throbbParticipanthells bells!
can’t wait for the show! i go to a lot, but usually it’s just for something to do. i’m really excited about this one. j must really like chicago considering he played here three times last year alone. (i caught all three shows and snagged set lists from two of them!)
i can’t imagine this show being different from the others i’ve seen at the bottle. no fences or bouncers in front of the stage, everyone just puts their brewskies right down front. stands to be a reel kool atmosphere. i’m sure j will be walking around too!
i’m bringing a camera if anyone wants a picture with the redoubtable j mascis. (i guess i’m overstepping my bounds, but i have a good feeling i’ll get to meet him.) i can post all the pictures on the site after taking them. it would be nice to get a spot real close to the stage.
be careful, its in a sort of crappy neighborhood. not so much dangerous as desolate, but all warm and fuzzy once you get inside.
who’s the guy that’s the teacher? i teach high school english and find it funny that there is actually another teacher that likes j. All the teachers i work with listen to the eagles! ugh!!!
i know i just started on this, but the site is fun!! sorry to ramble on, but i’m real excited for the show.
cheers,

HalfmanParticipantHey Mike,
I am going to school to teach exactly what you are doing now. All gen eds but one are about over. Start the edu and english blocks next semester. Hope to talk to you more. Me and Matty are using the private msg function here. That email addr is only good mon-thurs. Use the pm’s or and maybe we three can get together before the show and teach the rats how to square dance or something…..
Tom
