hey everyone. this news is about two weeks old but it would be great if you could keep him in your thoughts.

Indie-rock icon Daniel Johnson has been hospitalized in his hometown of Waller, TX, since last week. According a statement on Johnston’s official website, the artist’s family summoned emergency help when he became incoherent and was unable to walk.

In the statement, Johnston’s father says that the suspected cause of the episode is lithium poisoning. Johnston takes the drug–along with many other prescriptions–due to his history of mental illness. Johnston is also a borderline diabetic, and is tested daily to control his blood-sugar levels.
