The Flying Burrito Brothers version appeared about a year earlier than the Stones version, so what is the original, and what is the cover of this Jagger/Richards song?

This is a true, but well known example, of a cover/original-mixed up. Jagger/Richards wrote the song, FBB recorded it, Stones made their version of the FBB-interpetation..but it still is a Jagger/Richards-original.So the cover still…is better than the later recorded original. It is an often used Pop-quiz-question.
Let me think….three points for Den Buck

Den Buck: Since the White Stripe-hype, Carpenters are hot again, an anthology-compilation is probably on it’s way!

Hey,

Heard a couple of great covers over the last couple days, Hellacopters did a WICKED version of a Chuck Berry song…Sweet Little Rock ‘n Roller. It was live, recorded in Norway over the summer played on some Swedish radio station…very cool show!!!

Listening to The Hydromatics doing a live version of SRB City Slang right now, with Nick Royale on drums…pretty damn cool drummer!!!

Finally picked up a wicked version of The Hellacopters doing Stab Your Back (Damned cover) 56 seconds of coolness…including the bizarre laugh. Obviously not better than The Damned but pretty cool version!!!

Hansione-I remember reading awhile back in a magazine Joey talking about Louis Armstrong and that song,so it was`nt a surprise to me he covered it.What A Wonderful World was`nt written by Louis,it was written by jazz producer Bob Theile.

Salamiguy,
Funny, According to my Armstrongcd’s it is written by Weiss and douglas. Maybe we should ask this to the Jazzzzz-snobs you’ve mentioned before
