K7 Rides AgainParticipantHey, any input would be greatly appreciated. When ever I play music files, I get this strange hissing and popping noises in my speakers. Nothing to serious, but pretty damn annoying. Everytihng plays fine for the first song or two, but then it starts acting up. Also, I’m using windows media player but had the same problem with Winamp. Also, the media player seems to act up quite a bit. It is incredibly slow. When I skip songs it takes forever to get to the next one and sometimes it just completely freezes. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still have the same problems. I also know it’s not my speakers or receiver because they work fine w/ radio or CD player.
So what gives? Is it my media player or do you think my music files are fudged? Got any suggestions? I really don’t want to lose all the great files of music I have, but I can’t go on listening to them in this scratchy-ass state there in.
Thanx for any help. Peace <img>October 8, 2002 at 10:41 pm #83268
K7 Rides AgainParticipanthey thanks for the reply. How you been yourself? Been a while for sure!
Yeah, I don’t know either. U R probably right and the ole puter is fizzing out. It’s been on the fritz quite a bit as of late. Goinna try and copy all music stuff to my roommates puter when I get the time. Guess I’ll copy a few songs 1st and make sure it’s my puter and not the files themselves b4 copying them all. Hoping to buy a new one (i know I’ve been saying this forever) but I hardly ever use mine, so a new ones been low on priority list. Oh well, hopefully I can salvage these songs. Tak’er sleazy!

MattmanParticipantYou say that it starts out normal, and then it starts going bad after a few minutes. Does it do this everytime? If you shut it off for a while, does it start all over again?
If so, it sounds like you got a heat problem… May be tied to a component that’s goin’ bad (broken piece can’t take the heat anymore.)
Does the whole computer get cranky in a similar amount of time? If not, it’s probably just the sound card…

everyonelovesjaronParticipantMaybe MP3 files just suck, or God is trying to tell you to buy the album.
Those are perfectly valid possibilities.
