OriginalPosterLostParticipantJ Mascis, The loudest silence(r) of rock history is back. With his solid survivor instinct, this rock’nroll genius wrote about a dozen new songs. It sounds like Dinosaur Jr are back again, but with more experience under their belt. Everything seems familiar and still looks the same but on the other hand you’ll soon realise it’s not. J mascis his voice is as unique as it used to be, full of all the pain of this world. He’s like a wolf in a sheep’s clothing who’s eaten a lot of chalk and is now howling at the moon. His guitar solos are neckbreaking and euphoric, his drum tracks cause earthquakes and yes, Mascis even plays the bass, Nevertheless, there’s yet another unknown Mascis on this record: Mascis the piano-player. A pro on guitar and drums, he simply wanted to try something different, and it worked. He approaches the 88 keys like an innocent baby thereby achieving a naive intensity which casts a whole new light on his songs. "More Light" you might say
