duaneParticipantWell, I’m probably inviting myself to be flamed to a crisp but, what do you Canadiens think about the major shift of power you are about to undergo? I, for one, am sick of that Martin guy and welcome a shift to a more positive agenda. Looks like a good deal for the US of A.

SGParticipantMartin is a dork though I`d rather a polar bear in power than Harper
Had a dream last night I was at the poll station and about to vote but saw a poster that said Dino was playing nearby so I left

Why is it a good deal for the US of A?
You’re in deep waters, man. Deep, shark infested waters.
Ahem… at the risk of getting torched for my political affiliation I’ll just say I’m glad to see any country move away from the left.
Communism, Marxism, Socialism, whatever you call it, is poison to anyone desiring liberty.Am I banned from the forum yet?…….

AGAPParticipantCommunism, Socialism, Marxism…
We’ve had a liberal government for years, last election ended with a liberal minority government, think today we’ll probably end up with harpers crap party as another minority government. I don’t trust harper at all, I’d vote for the polar bear vs him as well. I voted in the advanced polls to make sure I didn’t miss the chance to not vote for him
Hopefully with a minority government some of the crap parties more extreme wishes can be contained by the remaining parties…fingers crossed.
The Criminals of the liberal party, including Martin are to blame for this mess we may find ourselves in…
GO Polar BEAR
…and no, not gonna debate politics, just my opinion above

I had a teacher in high school that gave a good answer to when someone asks what`s so wrong with communism. He said nothing is wrong with it,it`s actually the best system there is,it`s just the ones in power abuse it.
I have nothing against conservatives, liberals, anarchists, one legged lesbian devil worshipers, etc. as long as they don`t turn the debate into a hatefest which is what usually happens.
Martin and his party may be corrupt but it`s not like Harper`s party would`nt do the same thing.

duaneParticipantSee, I told ya. Nothing bring the claws out quite as good as politcal debate.
SG’s right: Harper and his cronies will probably indulge in the same activity that got Martin and his bunch in hot water (unkept promises, kickbacks, ect.). It’s just a question of weather they get caught! Here’s to hoping more good than bad comes out of this, it’s been a while since you guys have had the conservatives steering the ship.
Oh, and NEVER trust a (polar) bear to do a good job, thay lead you to believe thay are serious only to choke in crunch time! Cough! Nathen Vasher! Cough! Cowboys on 06!

AGAPParticipantQuote:See, I told ya. Nothing bring the claws out quite as good as politcal debateI must’ve missed those claws, thought it was pretty much a civil discussion…
I expect this minority government to be just as ineffective as the one that was just defeated. Sad state of affairs to say the least, hopefully we can hold off having another election for at least a year…
just a fyi, there was a merge a couple years back between the old conservatives & the craps (canadian reform alliance party), leading to what we see today…very small conservative led minority party
I’d take a polar bear or vasher any day…
Brian Mulroney…LOL!

duaneParticipantThe really funny/sad part of this is that now they (Hamas) are fighting with their own people (the Fatah movement) about the transfer of power. Their logic is so backwards: Peace… through violence.
I’m not trying to be the pessimest but, the only way peace will ever be realized there is when one side or the other is wiped of the face of the earth. The Jews say "This is our land, God gave it to us, it says so right here in the Bible"
The Palistinians say "This is our land, God gave it to us, it says so right here in the Koran."
Things are definately going to get worse….. -
