Basically i saw this video on Alternative Anthems on MTV2 UK about a month ago but at the end of the track the band and title didn’t come up on the screen so i have no idea who it is. I’ll try to describe the band and song as i remember.

Basically on the video the band were in this forest and there was this brunette woman singing and playing a big ol’ hollowbody electric guitar and two other guys on guitar and drums, I didn’t see a basist. The song which i don’t think is recent (Some time in the 90s) is very melodic and has some nice chorused guitars similar to the Cure or the Smiths’ sound. The only lyrics i can remember are something about an old oak tree. I know there not alot to go on but i was wondering if it rung any bells.

Sounds like it might be Belly-"Feed The Tree";I saw the video years ago;it`s Tanya Donnely from Throwing Muses/Breeders fame.

I think you are correct Salami, or at least we’re both wrong, because that is too what I thought of.

    Hey Salamiguy,

The Cramps did a cover of The Way I Walk, wondering if you know who did the original version. Can’t for the live of me figure it out so any help you can give would be appreciated.

I know the question was for salami, but-

OMIGOD! I love the cramps! Stan Getz and the Tom Cats did the song back in the mid 50’s…

Sounds like you were right Jaron!Stan Getz and the Tom Cats were a 50`s rockabilly band who backed up a detroit singer named Jack Scott. So that`s who wrote it!
There`s a famous jazz saxophonist with the same name so I thought you meant him!can`t imagine him being covered by the Cramps!

If anyone has any more questions about who did what or covered what,I`ll answer them.
Jaron seems to be doing well at this too!
