    Nov 25th is also the anniversary of Albert Ayler`s death in 1970 and Nick Drake`s in 1974 :(

    I don`t think Gene Ammons recorded an album with Ayler.I think you`re thinking of Sonny Stitt.There`s a couple or three albums they did.One called Boss Tenors In Orbit and a live album.And maybe another live album.
    Ayler did some of the most experimental jazz of the `60s.Alot of screaming sax :o 8)

    Hey SG,

    Yer absolutely right :) It’s Albert Ammons w/ Sonny Stitt : Boss Tenors. Why did I think it was Albert Ayler when they have such different styles :P

    It`s Gene,not Albert.Albert was his father who played piano in the `30s and `40s.

    Yeah, I’m getting all the names mixed up today–Albert: Boogey-Woogey. Gene: Tenor
    1+1=2Â ::) Guess I can’t be a full-fledged Jazz nerd–like I thought I was… :-[
