nick – I think Brown was from Chapel Hill. They had 2 members of Corrosion of Conformity in the line-up and a major case of the sucks . Sat outside and talked to J through their set

6gig – much of the second leg of the Fog tour
Magic Dirt in Australia
Jet by Day – Georgia
Cobra Verde

and if you want to count Lollapalooza
Tool, Rage against the machine and Arrested development (I think) all played before Dino.

Very cool topic BTW, I was going to start one just like it

I remember that Blur vid at the back now. Pretty tripped out stuff… brought a smile to many a face and a few gasps too!
I forgot to mention, i won the tickets from Melody Maker for the Rollercoaster gig. I phoned up and the machine aked a question about Jesus and mary chain… maybe what their first album was? I had only ever heard of ‘April Skies’ from some cheesy hits tape my sis had so i gave it as an answer and … hey presto- two tickets through the post two weeks later. So melody maker were good for one purpose at least!!!

I couldn’t remember exactly where Brown was from but one thing is for sure, they definately sucked. PUKE and CRY. I just sat back drinking my Sierra Nevada Pale Ale’s during that set. Did J comment on the band–Brown?

Primus and Alice and Chains played after dino at that lollapolluza. I can’t remember if Arrested Development played but I do remember Tool and Rage.

What a day!

Peace

Nah, when I came out, he asked if they were any good and all I could do was laugh. So that was that.
The funny thing is, I read a local music paper there (can’t remember if it was Creative Loafing) and they were saying that they were a local favorite.

(for Salamiguy) Cack is a word we use in UK meaning shit…it rhymes with WACK…know what I mean.

Yeah they did have an Ex-member of Stereolab can’t remember who…they were just really boring…the bass was hardly the most memorable aspect of MBV (apart from that SLOW tune on the b-side of YOU MADE ME REALISE) was it?..it was like some kind of drony riff rock…just a bit uninteresting really.

think they only released two 7" s.

I saw the gig with Come and Bettie Serveert, it was the loudest gig I’ve ever been to.

awesome.
