beautiful_noiseParticipantJ’s brother in law, Phillip, was the man with the video cam. he seemed to take way more video at the minneapolis show than the milwaukee show. I hope I don’t jinx it, but he took some sweet footage of J at minneapolis, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of it made the DVD.

Nirvana3240ParticipantI saw someone with a mic setup, but will they put it on the web is the question.

beautiful_noiseParticipantThe guy has a very strong accent. I would assume he is traveling with the band for the whole U.S. tour at least. It will be interesting to see what gets on the DVD. I’m pretty sure there won’t be a full show from one venue. There might be another taper, but it seems like Phillip was the only one. It’s a tossup as to whether or not there will even be a full song from a given show. They might take the audio from one, and use video clips from all the shows to get more interesting angles. This idea sounds weird, so maybe there would be full songs, but there will be alot of "camera roaming" (no fancy cuts to other angles). Phillip also seemed to get ALOT of footage after the Minneapolis show of various fans/crew members. It looked like standard interview style, probably questions like "What is your favorite song?", "How long have you listened to the band?", etc.
Granted all of this is just me brainstorming, but I’m excited for this DVD, and at the same time, I just want to have realistic expectations of what will be on the DVD. It’s not like a Pearl Jam video recording setup, it may even be just one guy.

Ministry’s Sphinctour dvd was shot like that — one camera, video cuts from different shows, and the best audio version of a given song from the tour. As the liner notes read: "one camera, 60 shows, no pussies…." It’s a great dvd, too. Nice and raw.

They’re still raw, but they seem to be playing tighter and better than ever.
