elisekittenParticipantMy name is Elise & I just simply adore Dinosaur Jr/J. I’m SUPER glad that this place exists, it rawks!!! Does anyone know how J’s doing? I just found out the news a few days ago, as I’m always the last person to find out things like this. I hope that he’s making a speedy recovery!
Hope to get to know you all soon!
PS. Are the videos not working? I downloaded Real Player, but it says that it doesn’t have the plugin available to play them.

AGAPParticipantHey Elise,
Welcome to the boards…and a female fan at that…very cool You won’t be the last to know if you keep visiting this site…only the finest of info and music/video stuff here.
There is a help forum for this site further down the boards, if you continue to have problems accessing the videos you should post your question there. We have quite a few brainiac tech whiz kinda people around here who could probably help you out. Videos are working fine for me currently.
Have fun checking out the boards…

HalfmanParticipantElise,
Welcome aboard. ELJ is right. I have only been here a few days and he, Salamiguy and Alison were quick to greet me and make me one of their puppets.

All kidding aside, they seem like neat folks so you are in good hands. As far as my intro that I am not going to do on how I first heard Dino Jr, I was still in the Marines stationed in Okinawa, Japan when I was "dosed". There was only one radio station called the Far East Network. I was in an office near where we were doing the paint, sandblast, undercoating and such on all of the vehicles that just came back from Desert Storm when this wonderfully dissonant song came blaring through at about 11am or 12pm, Puke and Cry. Funny, I don’t remember many people telling me Dinosaur Jr. ever had much radio airplay outside the college scene here stateside, yet the only stinking station for thousands of miles around saw fit to help add much joy to a miserable SOB who was not very grateful until late. They also played some stuff like Mary’s Danish (you gotta give props) Dada, and others I succesfully can’t think of at the moment. Anyway that is my minisermon. The soapbox is now available.

elisekittenParticipantThanx heaps for all of the nice welcomes. It feels really good to be surrounded by all of you rad ones. I was in a bit of a hurry on my first post, so I really didn’t get into my whole experience with Dino Jr. So here goes. I’ve been a loyal fan for about 7 or 8 years. I first discovered them on an alternative station (when alternative was real) & fell madly in love with them! No other band or musician could take the place of J., he’s an absolute genius & I just treasure everything that he represents. At the moment, I’m attempting to learn Keeblin on the gee-tar. Wish me luck, as I’m only a beginner & could never compare to our J.
